Thursday, January 05, 2017. Slowed by a Winter Headcold! Came down with a winter cold. Hoping it will pass quickly. I managed to get some writing work done on a client order today, after a walk, shopping and making some butternut squash soup with a ton of fresh ginger in it. I could breathe freely for a while after all the ginger. Good thing I love the taste of it. Tomorrow, writing deadline with a chance of snow. No errands. Hope for some extra stitching time. Bummer on the cold. Hope its gone soon!

Sunday, October 30, 2016. Merry Scrappy Hexie Christmas! Finally done, with a month to spare before Advent begins! And this is coming close to the finish line! Just the borders left to quilt. I opted for even feed foot and straight line quilting because my shoulders were hurting after a few hours of shovelling acorns (a bumper crop on the side lawn this year) and leaves. Monday, December 26, 2016. Slow Start on Clue 5. I am off to a slow start on Clue 5. I feel a sore throat brewing on this gray damp Boxing Day. Spent a quiet Christmas afternoon, just me and Mom. After a few weeks of a really strong rally, she is not doing too well again. I hope she can pull through for her 92nd birthday next week. Monday, September 05, 2016. Working on my mini garlic knots. 4" finished, made from the 1.5" strip bins. Puzzling out blocks for the outer border while I finish seven more of these to make it 6 blocks by 6 blocks across. Got any ideas? So far, I have the following thoughts:. Scrappy bright 16 patches. Essentially the garlic knot block, replacing the dark square on the outside with light, so the outer blocks look finished, not looking to connect with something. Links to this post.
