Dr So and So's Wife. If any of you readers out there work nights- or god forbid- switch between nights and days- bless your heart! I do my best to provide Dr.H with some normalcy and fun on his time off, but to be completely honest- he is SO tired- I know I need to tone the frustration down and just be ok with his quiet presence. I couldn't imagine working his schedule after all. We've gotten great use of our hiking poles this winter- they make a huge difference in the slick snow.

Dr So and So's Wife. 1 Wiily Street Co-op (fantastic desserts! 2 Lazy Jane's Cafe and Bakery (best scone you will ever eat! 3 Monty's Blue Plate Diner (most well known for vegetarian eats and the pie). 4 Mickie's Dairy Bar (go hungry.). 5 Mediterranean Cafe (only open for lunch). 6 Roman Candle Pizza (fun place to go with friends and family). 7 Umami (pork buns, dumplings, and ramen). 8 Alchemy (I go simply for the sweet potato fries). 1 One Barrel Brewing Company (brewed in small batches with love).

Dr So and So's Wife. Getting my move on. We survived the move to Utah. The fact that I'm here to stay doesn't quite feel real yet. I'm still expecting to head to the airport to go back to Madison any day. The move was, thankfully, nearly without incident. We were originally going to take our time packing up and head out of Madison Monday morning, but then we saw the weather report. Monday morning. -40 to -50 degree F with the wind chill. Uhhh.what? American, I'm on the fence as to whether its history should be a celebratory thing, and I have an intense loyalty to Swedish Christmas dinner. BUT. The residency gods (aka residency chief) scheduled Dr.Hottie to have Thursday and Friday off work. What? Come again- a holiday off of work? Love your North Face outfit on the ridge run! Dr So and So's Wife. The ultimate weekend adventure. Going into Dr.Hottie's 21 day stint of no days off, I knew we needed a carrot. In mid-October I texted Dr.H, "we're going to Zion November 14-16! Being the adventure-planner in the relationship is hard, but somebody has to do it ;-) Well, Zion National Park. At the base of Zion Canyon. The view was well worth the mid-20 degree temps on Saturday night. The sun setting a glow to the red rock. DrH taking in Observation Point. Some crazy fun switchbacks.

Dr So and So's Wife. Grand Canyon r2r2r adventure. Monday we drove 8 hours from Salt Lake to the Grand Canyon. The drive is scenic as you pass Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and finally drive into Arizona. We had reserved a campsite within Grand Canyon Park for 3 nights. After our cold-weather camping adventure in Zion Ntl Park back in November, we came prepared with plenty of firewood, layers (upon layers! I certainly said a few prayers along the way asking God for protection.
