Nature Devotions : What I Mean by: Christian Naturalist
https://verde33.blogspot.com/2004/07/what-i-mean-by-christian-naturalist.html
Enjoying Nature and the One Who Made It. Thursday, July 22, 2004. What I Mean by: Christian Naturalist. Being a naturalist means there is never a lack of things to do. You don’t have to wait for the show to come on TV. You don’t have to wait for it to warm up or for the season to come for your sport. No matter what time of year or the time of day there is always a wealth of things to see and observe. And He created our world. I want to get to know Jesus and when I study the Bible or nature I understand m...

Nature Devotions : Wandering Black Locust
https://verde33.blogspot.com/2015/06/wandering-black-locust.html
Enjoying Nature and the One Who Made It. Tuesday, June 09, 2015. When I took the first photo I thought the stem crossing the trail was a vine. But when I arrived closer I noticed that this was not a vine but a Black Locust tree that was searching for light. There were stems growing vertically off of the horizontal stem. Nature Devotions : Slippery Elm
https://verde33.blogspot.com/2015/05/slippery-elm.html
Enjoying Nature and the One Who Made It. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Not being familiar with this tree I was watching when the leaves came out to ID the tree. It is a Slippery Elm. One of the characteristics of this tree is the vertical lines within the bark. American elm does not have this. Am elm bark is blotchy in color. The buds were round and not angled and oblong like Am elm. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Forest Unseen: A Year's Watch in Nature by David Haskell. Annals of Forest Science.
