Love Multiplies Here: July 2015
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 July 2015. Medical update number. who knows what? Jadon playing with water during a physiotherapy session up on the Starlight Lounge patio. One of our current biggest challenges is Jadon's sleep. or lack thereof. He has typically been getting about 6 hours of sleep spread out throughout the night with waking periods ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours. He is not getting as much sleep as he should, and so neither are mom and dad! Monday, 20 July 2015. While we are also excited about this next ...

Love Multiplies Here: October 2014
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 October 2014. A normal day. at last! Today was a great day! Nothing spectacular happened, which is what made it great! No visits to a clinic, no major issues, just ordinary everyday life - as ordinary as can be with a family of 5 kids (that sounds large! Whose youngest has a major heart issue that is uncorrected, often labours to breathe, and occasionally gets blue lips. I guess this is our new normal! Jadon is starting to feel more comforatble and okay in and around home. We received Jadon fr...

Love Multiplies Here: Moving on up!
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2015/07/moving-on-up.html
Monday, 20 July 2015. While we are also excited about this next step, we also realize that there are many more questions that still need to be answered. Jadon's chest wound - the top is healing well but the bottom still has a hole through to the mediastinal cavity. Will it heal on its own or need intervention? Jadon is just starting to drink a little applesauce. How will his feeding go? Has his reflux improved at all? How will he get his nutrition? Will they have to do any other interventions for this?

Love Multiplies Here: Back Roaming the Halls
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2015/07/back-roaming-halls.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. Back Roaming the Halls. Along with this, Jadon has made strides in other ways. He has taken small amounts of an apple sauce/juice combo orally. the first food he's taken in about 4 weeks! This is important as he doesn't tolerate feedings through his NG tube very well and so is currently dependent on IV feedings. He has also been going for walks in his special stroller, accompanied by his IV pole! So great to see his smile again! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Love Multiplies Here: Crazy Crazy Rollercoaster Ride!
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2015/07/crazy-crazy-rollercoaster-ride.html
Friday, 10 July 2015. Crazy Crazy Rollercoaster Ride! Who knew that the last paragraph of the previous blog entry would turn out to be so prophetic? Sunday morning when I came into his room I saw a very different child! What an answer to prayer! We are once again cautiously optimistic. Family portrait on the white board in Jadon's room, compliments of Jie Jie Rykauna. Jadon wearing his 'corset' to help the chest stay more stabilized as it heals. He no longer has the IV and arm 'pillow' on his left arm.

Friday, 29 May 2015. Here comes surgery number four! Because there is scarring in the area and the vessel they are looking to repair is in the neighborhood of the conduit that had been installed during his original surgery, the surgeon has expressed some concern with being able to find the vessel to repair. Please continue to pray for help for the medical team and for little Jadon. He is such an absolute sweetheart! Thursday, 21 May 2015. 100 Days. and still waiting for answers! His SATs are much better&...

Love Multiplies Here: December 2014
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, 11 December 2014. We waited well over an hour for the physician. At which point Jadon became sleepy and dozed off in my arms. Finally, the cardiologist's fellow showed up, asked some questions, then told me the results of the ECHO. He said they can see the tetrology of fallot, the shunt is working well, and the pulmonary artery is a decent size. Say what? This is very good news! Yes" what else could I say? I was a bit deflated but I also realize that nothing will be done during the two weeks fo...

Love Multiplies Here: February 2015
http://lovemultiplieshere.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 February 2015. Dear Jadon is having a really tough go. We were excited on Friday when they told us they were planning to extubate him (take him off the ventilator) on Saturday. On Saturday he was extubated but he did not tolerate it well and ended up on cpap (oxygen via mask) fairly quickly. Here is hoping the fever gets under control and they can get the plication done tomorrow so he can continue working his way out of the critical care unit. Wednesday, 18 February 2015. Slowly things are mov...
