Wednesday, August 29, 2007. His name is Gundanna! Was one good thing that happened to me around 5 years back. There was a different kinda joy with him. And staying with him day and night, my sister and I started treating him like our brother. Sounds strange right. With the lot of love we had towards him, we hated if anyone called him Dog. we would say, "His name is Gundanna. Years passed by and we got used to people addressing him as a cute dog. We did not like the word dog, yet got used to it. 2) Grind ...

Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Drive the Ghats smoothly. Last weekend we drove to my very own Udupi. In my very own car. And being new into driving, it was an amazing experience. It is a real nice feel that you get your dad to sit in the back seat with mom and drive the all the way. He was not completely relaxed due to the anxiety and tension. However, we sisters saw him resting and enjoying. just the way we do when he drives. As they truly say, parents are the angles sent by God. Posted by Samata Ballal.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Everything has its own unique and steady importance. There is a reason why every kind of thing has been made on Earth. Relating back to cooking, one cannot make a dish with just one or two items. To even make the simplest of dish, there is an involvement of lot of things. right from salt, sugar, . etc to vessels, spoons. etc. In our day to day life, since most of it is available we fail to understand the importance of it. until it is not there. Samata's Notes: Profession of Changing personalities

Thursday, December 04, 2008. Profession of Changing personalities. A very interesting thing happened off late. I had been to a beauty saloon for a hair cut. This is something that I do once every 2 months and had been very routine to me. Based on my convinience and curiosity to venture new saloons, I usually enter new places. This time it was Lakme in Bannergatta road. When she said this, I could sense the command and pride she had about her work. Well, would all this cost more? Posted by Samata Ballal.

Sunday, July 25, 2010. Tonight, we tried this new recipe. From the August Food and Wine. It was really easy to make- it probably took about 20-30 minutes to chop all the vegetables and layer the casserole and then it baked for about an hour at two different temperatures. Ed is sitting next to me and said that adding some balsamic vinegar to the pepper and oil mixture might be nice. We also think that it might be great with some oven-baked sausage.
