As a matter of fact I just learned a new word today “emoticon”. My picture is accurate. Married, student, employed part time with Health Canada, “wannabe” Dietitian, recently became a Canadian, not sure about my hair colour any more (but definitely a few greys in there). This page will be dedicated to general food substitutions…flax for eggs…who knew? Is an easy substitution for wheat flour in any kind of baking. You use it in the same ratio. Baking powder- if you are not able to buy gluten free baking powder (baking powder has starch in it which could be wheat starch)…make you own. Baking soda 1 part (1/3 cup).

I promise you won’t be disappointed. This is my very own recipe adapted from my mom’s banana muffin recipe. Go to my “what’s on the menu page”. And you’ll be baking up a storm. Plant seeds in full sun 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch deep. Space seeds 1 inch apart in rows with 6 inches between rows. Keep soil evenly moist down to the depth of the tip of the carrots, but not too wet. Too much water will cause the carrots to split. At a height of about 1 inch, thin carrots by snipping them off with scissors at the soil level leaving the remaining carrots about 1/2 inch apart. Thin to about 2 inches apart when the carrots tops are about 6 inches tall. Lettuce seedlings emerge in 7-10 days.
