Monday, 27 February 2012. After all the takeover people were flown out, we spent the next few days flying out the rest of the cargo, finishing up the rest of the cargo work at Summer station, shut down the summer station, and finally left for home two days ago. Halfway we had to pick up the other Caboose, but this was easier said than done since we almost could not find it in the dark and mist! Seriously the coldest night I have EVER had! Monday, 26 November 2012. Its the last few weeks that we have alone at the base. Pretty sad to start packing up everything and getting ready for the masses to invade. The fact that we have so little time of peace and quiet left makes you appreciate the little things even more, like an evening of perfect weather and a once in a lifetime view. Friday, 30 December 2011. Back at the base. The CAT train was really awesome. Roger and I was in Challenger 2, and then Alli and Braam went in number 5, each taking 4 hour shifts to drive. We had really good weather on our way to halfway, so we made good time, got there around 6 in the morning, refueled, hooked the. Saturday, 23 June 2012. A midwinter night's dream. Okay, so first off, what is midwinter and why do we celebrate it? And no computer geeks, sorry, this is not the first-person action role-playing strategy game we are talking about. Lets start at the beginning. Midwinter celebrations are a long-standing Antarctic tradition, and at SANAE we are all for traditions. So some awesome scenery, champagne, lots of food and a Monster or two later, it turned out to be quite the memorable evening. Friday, 8 June 2012.

Thursday, 14 March 2013. So we have been back for exactly three weeks and a day. I have to apologize for not really blogging towards the end, it was mainly due to good weather, laziness, and the lack of proper internet. I will hopefully update the newsletter list with the last two issues shortly.
