The Friends of Rookwood Inc. No 1 Pond, Serpentine Canal. Restoration of this pond was completed in September 2001. Some other monuments undergoing restoration are; Frazer Mausoleum. And the Quong Sin Tong. The Friends of Rookwood. Have also contributed funds for the restoration of many other headstones and monuments, large and small.

The Friends of Rookwood Inc. Voluntary guides conduct public tours within the cemetery on the first Sunday of every month, from March to November. Tours commence at 10am. Public tours depart near the corner of Necropolis Circuit and William Drive. The starting point is easy to find as you will find our tent and a group of eager volunteers. Tour days provide us with the funds to assist in the restoration of projects within the cemetery. Tours cost only $15.00 per person. The Friends of Rookwood.

Caring For Monuments at Rookwood. Observations and stories from working for the Anglican and General Trusts of Rookwood Necropolis– through their stonemasonry arm Monuments in Memoriam– taking care of gravestones in the old sections of the cemetery. Sunday, 24 July 2011. I'm not sure that I really know what I've gotten myself into. but, somehow, there's a massive volunteer project growing at Rookwood and I've got lots of work to do! The collapse of the HOARE vault was the impetus for the whole project.
