Well the spray arrived and Bette is looking very punkish with purple flashes around her plumage; she looked quite disapproving at first, but seems to have got used to the idea now. Been making loads of jams and chutneys over the last couple of weeks, and discovered a really tasty recipe for marrow and ginger jam which I thought I'd share here:. 1kg Marrow - peeled and diced to 1cm cubes. 2 desert apples - peeled and diced. 3cm root ginger (peeled). Mix the marrow and sugar and leave in fridge overnight. Will make approx 3 jars of jam. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

That's 2 more than we were led to expect. and enough to supply us and out weekend guests, plus pass on halfr a dozen to friends doewn the local. I call that a pretty good start. The girls are doing well and have been delighting our guests 9and assorted friends) with theri lovely tasy eggs. the last couple of days they seem to be laying a lot less - hope they're not going off the lay, just when the guesthouse is at its busiest! Unfortunately the birds ate practically all our big crop of red currants - must try and sort out a cage for next year! Welcome to our Blog!
