Gardening in New England

Gardening in New England. Monday, December 26, 2011. The Year in Review. Another year of gardening in New England has come and gone. What did I learn this year? By fall I had given up fighting with the netting and actually ended up wasting a couple of dozen grape tomatoes. Now that the weather is cooler I'm feeling a little guilty about that! There were some new colors that I hadn't seen in the past.a couple of shades of burgundy, that I really enjoyed. The snapdragons did well, until late summer...The l...

Gardening in New England: January 2011

http://gardeninginnewengland.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Gardening in New England. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. A couple of days of 50 degree weather made me long to be in the garden. It also made me feel a little guilty about the 3 bags of mulch frozen to the ground in the backyard because I never got around to spreading them! No need to worry though, the weeds can't grow in this cold! Let the planning begin! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Gardening in New England: July 2008

http://gardeninginnewengland.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Gardening in New England. Monday, July 28, 2008. Summer in the Garden. It's mid summer and the garden continues to bloom. The buds on the Rose of Sharon are just starting to open and the humming birds are in heaven! The black-eyed Susans and summer phlox are at their peak and the last of the daylilies have opened. The annuals look wonderful - especially the vinca and lantana. I had my first flower on the morning glories yesterday. Only time will tell! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://gardeninginnewengland.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Gardening in New England. Wednesday, April 22, 2009. If I give in to temptation I will definitely have to carefully monitor temperatures and cover the plants if necessary. Some people use frost blankets, but I find that turning over empty pots that I have saved works just as well. I will probably be too busy working in my garden to blog much in the near future, but I will be loving my time outdoors! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

With spring right around the corner I am organizing my plant lists so that come May I will be ready to do some serious shopping! Gardening in Oklahoma

Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Tidying up the Herb Garden. Anyway, I did plant some Cilantro seeds and I planted some chocolate mint that I purchased at a local nursery at the urging of both my daughters. I told the girls that we would have to give them a try. I have them posted below. Chocolatemint Chocolate Chip Cookies.
