Vegetable Vagabond: October 2014
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Monday, October 6, 2014. No work and all play makes me very happy today! A friend came by and brought me some of her wonderful asparagus this morning and all day, on and off, I have been thinking about how I would have it tonight…. raw in a salad, steamed as a vegetable, baked in a tart…. or what! And put it under the grill to brown a little. Life is good. Let things go a bit and watch them come back. Look at the colour of that! Red cabbage shoots about to flower.

Vegetable Vagabond: January 2015
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Friday, January 16, 2015. Any others you may encounter have been similarly transformed. Children and dogs frolic with cricket balls, sand castles, little boats and beach towels. Parents cease to fret and, instead, enjoy fun, laughter and relaxation. Even testy teenagers are happy! Life is good. I am there and taking it slow. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Katevag@gmail.com, Cygnet, Tasmania, Australia. View my complete profile. BBC Worldwide on YouTube.

Vegetable Vagabond: March 2015
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. It’s raining, it’s pouring, this old girl is…. I have been waiting for a rainy day, for weeks, so that I can stay inside and deal with the autumn abundance. As much as I love being in the garden, there’s nothing that makes me happier than a day in the kitchen but I cannot bear to be inside if the weather is fine! Not a bad effort for one afternoon…. but I have lots of apples to box up for storage and plums to stew yet! Carrot and ginger pickle...

Vegetable Vagabond: September 2014

Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Greater desires = more work. Then he puts this back onto the consumer by saying…. 8230;To say that what one eats is merely a matter of preference is deceiving because an unnatural diet creates a hardship for the farmer and the fisherman as well. It seems to me that the greater one’s desires, the more one has to work to satisfy them. I don’t feel that my life is lacking; in fact I feel it is very rich and wonderful. Vegetable Vagabond: November 2014
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Thursday, November 20, 2014. The Australian Outer Hebrides. I am in Adelaide for a couple of weeks, celebrating my mother’s 92nd birthday, spending time with son Hugh, gardening with friends, walking on the beach and having the odd swim in a much warmer sea than ever happens in Tasmania. Two glorious weeks of November weather; balmy nights, warm – hot days and streets lined with the wonderful jacaranda trees in full bloom everywhere I go. This morning I have been re-r...

Vegetable Vagabond: August 2015
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Sunday, August 9, 2015. Have you heard of Kermandie Falls? We had not until a bloke in Geeveston told us about it and drew us a map because there was so much snow and debris up the Hartz road we would not be able to go there . gosh. Eventually we found the start, after discovering the road we needed to go on (Ogles Road)had lost its sign! The start of the walk was not signed but we saw a pink ribbon on a tree and headed towards it. Back at the car the sun was shining ...

Vegetable Vagabond: Pears, Eggs, Mulch and more
http://vegetablevagabond.blogspot.com/2015/03/pears-eggs-mulch-and-more.html
Sowing seeds and putting down roots. Saturday, March 7, 2015. Pears, Eggs, Mulch and more. I love cool days; I can get so much done. I love where I live; it is rarely brown and dry and the creek through my garden mostly trickles and tinkles all summer long. I had a problem with my mulcher this morning so, while I thought about how to fix it I took to the lawn mower…. then I had a bright idea, which worked and I felt very pleased with myself as the mulcher once again roared into action. After lunch my bru...
