Rick donated his kidney to his 17 year old son in 1996. At that time, not only was it a shock to learn his son had renal disease, but the concept of donating an organ seemed something like science fiction. Now that his knowledge and interest have peaked, he has developed a sincere passion to reduce the kidney transplant waiting list.
