Friday, 4 June 2010. Week 7 - jellyfish and money. We love playing with technic lego in Golden Time. We create lots of different models and machines. Some people enjoy doing craft in Golden Time. Can you guess what we're making? We'll put photos on the blog of these when they're finished! In maths we're still working on money. We're learning about the different coins and notes. We're practising working out change. We practise buying things and giving change in the smoothie shop or the P3 and P3/4 shop.

Wednesday, 21 July 2010. After the Spirit Dancer came to Glaitness for us to learn more about it (you can read about that here. Some people were very keen to go out paddling in her. Tuesday, 29 June 2010. Canadian Day part 1 - Pipes and salutes in the Spirit Dancer. For the first part of our Canadian Day the Spirit Dancer Canadian canoe came to school to visit us. Some Candians - Chris, Barbara and Bob - came too to tell us all about it. It's 42 feet long - that's nearly 13 metres long! We all climbed in and were given paddles to hold. Saturday, 12 June 2010. We had a fun morning of activites over at Picky. The races in the afternoon had to be postponed because of the rain - they'll be held next Friday afternoon instead. In the morning we went out onto the track first. We did a relay race with some unusual batons to pass! We supported each other . After that, we went inside to play parachute games. It was great! Tuesday, 29 June 2010. Canadian Day part 2 - parcel and party. For the 2nd part of our Canadian Day we had a nice surprise. When we got back into school after break we found that a parcel had arrived from our link school, Outma Sqilx Cultural School in Penticton in the Okanagan Region of British Columbia. We were really excited! They have a monster in the Okanagan Lake called Ogopopo. It looks a bit like Nessie, the Loch Ness monster from Scotland. We wonder if they're cousins? Lim Limpt, Outma School!

Saturday, 17 July 2010. At the end of term everyone in the class received 2 awards. Some people are missing from the photographs, but we all got our John Muir. GlaitnessClass 1/2/3 - 201314. Monday, 17 March 2014. We like to do lots of fun active things in our class. We have a climbing frame in the class sometimes. When the weather is good we go outside on the bikes. We also enjoy our PE lessons with the PE teacher and Mrs McElroy. We have been jumping and climbing using the gymnastic equipment this term. Class 2/3 2014/2015
Saturday, 14 March 2015. P2/3 have really enjoyed their 4 week block of tag rugby. Everyone thought it was great fun playing outside and getting very muddy! They worked on improving their passing and receiving skills, dodging and working in a team. P2/3 have had their detective hats on and have been busy investigating the 4 layers of the rainforest. Tuesday, 22 June 2010. On Thursday 10th June Primary 2 went to the Cathedral to perform a mock wedding. We have been learning all about weddings as part of our RME work this term. We picked names out of a hat to decide who was going to play the different roles in the service. Here is the Father of the Bride and the Bride ready to go down the aisle. Our Minister did a super job of the service! Everyone enjoyed taking part in the mock wedding service and found out a lot of new information about weddings.

Wednesday, 9 June 2010. Whole school Fair trade assembly. Today we welcomed Raymond Kimaro to our school and presented an assembly to the whole school. About fair trade with him. He came from Tanzania to tell us about how fair trade can help improve daily life for coffee farmers there. He told us about Tanzania and we asked him questions about what animals lived there and what life is like for children living there. In the hall we sang our Kuapa Kokoo song. Posted by Lesley Mackay. Tuesday, 1 July 2014. The boys and girls had a lovely day at the beach in Birsay. They saw seals, ducks, a lighthouse, crabs and fish. They had a little picnic and also made lots of sandcastles. The boys and girls have really enjoyed growing different things this year. We grew lettuce, beans and strawberries. Friday, 6 June 2014. Friday, 30 May 2014. The boys and girls who are in Primary 4 joined Class 4 to help clean up Scapa beach. They worked really hard and filled up 4 big buckets.
