Grameen's my favorite color :). A travel log of my field study in Bangladesh. Almost like being at home…. So the big event for today? We ordered American Burger! Which is essentially a Bangladesh version of Burger King…I got a cheeseburger and fries and all I can say is yummo🙂. Okay, so I also received a personally autographed book by Dr. Yunus but frankly the dinner was the true highlight of my day because it included french fries! July 27, 2010. So West I'm East. Lynne's adventures in Bangladesh and beyond…. Visit Bangladesh before it becomes a tourist trap. August 6, 2010. During our first week in Bangladesh, we came across a poster that said Visit Bangladesh before the tourists come. We all thought that it was amusing then, but as this trip is over and I have returned home, I realize the truth the poster holds. Tourism is a good industry for Bangladesh and will help them develop further, but at what cost? I hope that the Bangladeshi countrysid...

Snake Charmers | So West I'm East
https://sowestimeast.wordpress.com/2010/08/06/snake-charmers
So West I'm East. Lynne's adventures in Bangladesh and beyond…. August 6, 2010. On the last day in Dhaka city, we went to a nearby village to see a snake charmer. When we arrived, per usual, we drew a large crowd. Children, women, men all gathering around our car as our interpreter negotiated the price for us. When we got out of the car to watch the snake charmers, the crowd stayed and watched as well. Here are some pictures. From → Uncategorized. Larr; The Bangladeshi Tea Estates. Enter your comment here.

Grameen's my favorite color :). A travel log of my field study in Bangladesh. A walk around the block…. Ahh…what can I say about the neighborhood I’m in? Today Mike and I took a walk around the hotel in search of an ATM. It had rained and was muddy. We saw the various food vendors and homeless children, one sleeping on an overpass. July 30, 2010. Grameen's my favorite color :). A travel log of my field study in Bangladesh. Our final weekend in the ‘Desh. We spent the weekend in Sylet, a region known for its tea plantations, pineapple harvesting, national forest and more importantly, monkeys and spotted deer! It was beautiful albeit it rainy, which was not unexpected because this region is known for its rain (think Seattle). Big Spiders in the forest. It was a sobering way to end our trip. While this trip has been really fun and extremely educ...
