Monday, February 24, 2014. Les arabesques Islamiques cm2/6. Students experimented making prints with different vegetables and fruits (broccoli, lemon, apple, Brussels sprouts etc). The goal at first was to put just the right amount of paint on the fruit/veggie to leave a nice clean imprint. Then the objective was to create a vegetable frieze, repeating the same pattern 6 times using different colors and fruits/veggies. Some students used carving tools on potatoes to make different designs. It is very fun!

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. The 3rd graders studied the detective story genre through books read in class. They studied the specific vocabulary as well as the recurrent characters and intrigue. We made two groups after that and each created a detective story using all the information that was gathered earlier on. The result is great, very creative and filled with imagination. First, we observed different seeds with different colors and we made suppositions on what kind of plant will grow from those seeds. The children think that an orange seed with give an orange or a pumpkin, a black seed will grow a prune, a green one will be an apple . To check our hypothesis, we started experimenting by planting our seeds. We need to use the watering can.
