The Shooting Thomcat: Practice Week, plus Multigun...
http://shootingthomcat.blogspot.com/2012/03/practice-week-plus-multigun.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Practice Week, plus Multigun. Let's talk about Multigun first. This past Sunday was our first Multigun match of the year. Four stages: Rifle/Shotgun, Pistol/Rifle, Shotgun/Pistol, and Rifle. Fairly high round count, too. Stages were creative, fun, and challenging. And my shooting was plagued with issues. Missed shots on that part that I had to make up, and the amount of time it cost me. Second stage: Rifle/Shotgun (I designed this stage.). We were originally told that this stage ...

The Shooting Thomcat: December 2010
http://shootingthomcat.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 19, 2010. End of the Year Commentary. So, time to look at my shooting goals from this past year and find out how I did. On the defensive tactics side:. Again- -this doesn’t make it bad. It just means (given a limited amount of time and training funds) I’d rather spend them both on something different that’ll help me grow more as a shooter/instructor. Of their training was like. For example, the training class I went to this past year had as its instructor someone who has indeed had a...

http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Shooting Goals for 2010. I did a lot of shooting this past year, and a lot of different types of shooting. I didn’t make any goals last year, but this year, I would like to have a few, both related to USPSA competition and related to Defensive Tactics style shooting. Write commentary/reviews of at least. Look up (via the internet) and research the following “major” handgun manufactures a...Learn to ...

Learning to Throw Like a Girl: July 2009
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Thursday, July 23, 2009. We- Sabumnim and I went out to the range today for some "last minute" practice before the set up for the Area 3 match begins. We worked on some movement drills between two shooting boxes. The drill is, starting inside the first shooting box, draw, put one shot on a silhouette target, move to a second box and put one shot on a silhouette from the new shooting position. Sounds easy right? A second dril...

Learning to Throw Like a Girl: April Multi-Gun Match
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2011/04/april-multi-gun-match.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Monday, April 18, 2011. Multi-gun match this month was. interesting for me to say the least. It was fun (as always), but I had some interesting problems and definitely picked up on some things that I need to work on. Here's my match video:. Oh boy. There's so much to say about what happened at this match. You know, I'm usually pretty good at shotgun shooting- but not today! As always- slow reloads. On the positive side, you ...

Learning to Throw Like a Girl: February Steel 2011
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2011/03/february-steel-2011.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Monday, March 7, 2011. I unfortunately couldn't attend the January Steel match out with everyone- I was quite sick that weekend. However! I did make it out to the February Steel match (Feb. 6th). I didn't get any videos, but I do have a couple things to say about it- -. I really only did horribly on one stage, and it was a long distance accuracy stage. I just couldn't hit the targets! Learning to Throw Like a Girl: January 2011
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Monday, January 10, 2011. So it's a new year, and that means that it's time to assess my goals from last year, and set new goals for the next year- both regarding Defensive Tactics and USPSA. Given my shortcomings in the previous year, perhaps I should make more moderate goals. I think last year, I got a little over zealous. 1 Move to B class in production. 2 Work further on trigger preparation. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Learning to Throw Like a Girl: April Pistol Match
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2011/04/april-pistol-match.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Friday, April 8, 2011. Another great match out at Easter Nebraska Gun Club. This past weekend was our April Pistol match. As usual it was a blast and here I am doing my review of the match. We had an RO class out at our range this time around- congrats to those who participated and good luck on the exam! Anyway, because of the class we only had four stages today, but still definitely a ton of fun. I designed this stage!

Learning to Throw Like a Girl: August 2010
http://girlthrow.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Learning to Throw Like a Girl. Defensive Tactics - Hapkido - Practical Shooting. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. I was reviewing my goals and some of them I either completely forgot about or haven't been doing correctly. Here's a breif update on how the goals for the year are going. Write commentary/reviews of at least the larger matches I attend and any shooting classes I participate in. Include stage times, scores, and anything that went exceedingly well or exceedingly poorly and why. I handled about 5 diffe...
