Fifteen Dollar Guitar - Heph.aest.us

Dillon continues to play guitar in Mad RED Kat. And continues to develop his skills (though somewhat reluctantly, like any 13 year-old). As he does, he’s expressed an interest in an acoustic guitar. Really, he wanted an electric-acoustic. After cruising Craig’s List, and eBay for possible candidates, I came across this gem:. Yup, a $15. I bid and won the thing. Then I looked at where Cumberland actually is… it’s not near Madison… it’s near St. Paul. Stripped down a bit…. Masked off, and template in place.

Ammo box panniers… finally! So… this is pretty ridiculous, but I started this project in December of 2009… for those keeping score, that’s 4 1/2 years. Pretty ridiculous, but I’m pleased with the result. I’ll have to figure out a better mounting at some point, but we’re good for the moment. First ride of 2011 or first repair of 2011. There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog. Thursday, June 18, 2009. Apparently the VW 1.8T engine has a bit of a design flaw. As we have been having problems with rough idles and stalling. Having checked the engine over with diagnostic equipment and listening to the motor the coils on cylinders 1 and 3 were found to be the culprits. two coils replaced and everything is peachy. Saturday, June 13, 2009. I have managed to sell the Murray. Slightly below asking, but not so I was hurting. So we took...

There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog: April 2011

There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog. Sunday, April 3, 2011. So we're thinking about some bike camping in the mountains of Montana, and I'm thinking about putting racks on the Instigator. "Wait what," you say. "that has no braze ons for racks" you say. Yes The Instigator has no handy braze ons for racks or fenders (yes there is an eyelet where nothing can reach, for all the good it is). So now I need to figure out a way to pack my half of the gear on a bike without any way to bolt in. Lemon...

There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog: November 2012

There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog. Sunday, November 4, 2012. Once more but with feeling! Early this summer I bought a 1x1 frame set off craigslist. Specifically I bought a Race Face crankset with a Surly 1x1 frame set attached to it. The plan being, upgrade the crankset on my 1x1, and sell the frame set for what I had into it back on cl. Oh the plans of mice and men. So with a heavy heart I said goodbye to the crankset and we started collecting parts. Geared at about 2.15x1 the bike ...

There and back again: a Token joke for a Bike blog. Monday, March 30, 2009. In no particular order here are some of the pictures that did not appear in the previous post. This post is broken. When we were leaving I noticed a cool looking rack. We went back to the river but continued north to Gold Medal Park, stopping to snap a picture of the museum. I was taking it into the sun so it in general sucked. From Gold Medal we went the little bit further to the Stone Arch Bridge. . About the same. . My boss h...
