The Bird's Nest
http://motherbird-nest.blogspot.com/2009/09/not-much-to-say-but-heres-few-pictures.html
Tuesday, September 08, 2009. Not much to say but here's a few pictures from our first week:. After listening to the tale of St. Genevieve on Friday, we did some watercolor paintings of her in her lovely blue cloak, then a few more of other pretty things like rainbows and flowers. My first grader is in love with her new nature journal. After admiring her older brother and sister's journals for the last couple of years, she finally has one of her very own. I hope she has fun adding to it. Yarns of the heart.

It has been an experience of family bonding, exploration and discovery, and intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. So much more than just school! We did an in-depth st...

The Bird's Nest: January 2009
http://motherbird-nest.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2009. We concentrated on History today in our homeschool. History in the making! What an exciting day for our country! Monday, January 19, 2009. But I also love Martin Luther King Jr. day. I really love a holiday that celebrates a man, a movement, that changed the world using nonviolence and peaceful protest! We could read books about him, watch MLK videos on Youtube, etc. But that sounds boring (well, sort of.). Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Trying to ward off a bad case of cabin fever...

The Bird's Nest: September 2008
http://motherbird-nest.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Sunday, September 21, 2008. It's a few days late, but Happy First Birthday Baby! Monday, September 15, 2008. I tried and tried to come up with some field trip ideas for today. It's not easy finding fun, easy- to-get-to, kid-. Husband-pleasing outings that are also. In fact, they couldn't even get to the pier unless they had wanted to swim there:. While they were out there they had their first encounter with the LAW! I'm glad he didn't give them a hard time. I guess ther...
