Sunday, February 12, 2012. Death Valley Day #5. Breakfast burritos at General Store. Drive through Titus Canyon Road. Went through Red Pass - v. beautiful, annoying illegal backcountry packers right at pass, intrigued by thimble peak. Beautiful ride down. Got to Leadfield - advertised as ghost town, sore disapointment for Mabel, David still relativey excited, only a few structures, one site had v. nice views, should have been called ruins. Monday, December 31, 2012. Lacrima di Morro D'alba. Really lovely fragrant nose. It is like drinking perfume in a good way. Smells like violets and roses. Smooth, med body. One of my favorite wines. This is the 2009 but we just drank a bottle of the 2010 and it's similar. Cost $20. Lacrima di morro d'alba. Sunday, December 30, 2012. It was one of the best meals we had ever had. Perhaps we will be lucky enough one day to visit a second time. Back in March of 2012 we got lean and fatty tuna from Mitsuwa.

Saturday, January 19, 2013. Puerto Rico Day 9: 1/12/13. Mabel got a cover up at the Bee Hive to have something other than the surf shirt to wear. We got pressed sandwiches at La Viequense, a pretty solid bakery in Isabella Segunda. They were just right. The water was incredibly clear. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Made it out on a Tuesday night. Mabel loved it. Highlights were the figs in an arugula salad. The steak tartar was exceptional. The hazelnuts made it. Pastas were perfect. Mabel got a squid ink linguine (mabel appreciated the citrus) and I got a duck pasta made with little trumpets. Cherry semifreddo was really good with what seemed to be house made preserved cherries. Sunday, April 1, 2012. Death Valley, Day #8 (January 9, 2012). Last day. Packed up camp. Our trusty little tent outlasted the huge one we got for Bar Harbor. Drove up to Dantes Peak overlooking the valley. Stopped by the Sierra Nevada range on the drive home. Mount Whitney in the distance. Next trip? Death Valley, Day #7.
