Heather and Hannahs BIG Adventure. Monday, 4 May 2009. Mercury Bay and other stuff nearby. Mercury bay isnt the most exciting place but there was an amazing rainbow when we got there! On the way we stopped to hug a Kauri tree which the Mauri believed rid you of your evil and sins. I felt very cleansed afterwards! We also stopped at the best beach ever! After i arrived we spent a few days seeing the sights of auckland then hopped on the bus to head north to paihia. its still a bit over cast but the sun came out this afty and we spent our first day on the beach! And even with the sun hiding behind the clouds its still HOT so a quick dip was right up our street.

Heather and Hannahs BIG Adventure. Saturday, 14 March 2009. A TRex named Sue. This is Sue. I saw her in Auckland museum before i left for Paihia. Sue is the largest and most complete T.Rex skeleton even found! She roamed north America 65-67 million years ago and is 12.8 meters long and 4 meters high at the hip, she weighed 7 tonnes! Rotorua has a population of 68,000 people, of which about 35% are Maori, it is renown as the heartland of Maori culture and attracts some 2.9 million people annually. When you arrive you know you're somewhere different, it smells very odd, like eggs i'd say. Its actually sulphur. Next we were taken through a very dark building where we saw our first Kiwi birds! Heather and Hannahs BIG Adventure. Saturday, 14 March 2009. On the 2nd of March i went up the sky tower, its the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere, its got 360 degree views from 3 different observation levels. You can stand on glass floor pannels and look straight down to the floor below, which was really scary! Every now and again you see people hurling themselves off and flying past the window. The Guy was quite frustrated as he said if i'd of put $20 in to start with i could of won hundreds!
