Amelia the explorer: Returning to Abu Dhabi
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2014/08/returning-to-abu-dhabi.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Monday, August 11, 2014. Returning to Abu Dhabi. So here we are, waiting. Waiting for flight details, still (seems like forever since the interview in February and offer letter in March). And I am not good at waiting. Still "learning" is my thing, and patience is growing. Here's hoping an email materialises soon. Enshallah! Until then, we wait. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The three of us.

Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Exploring Glen Aire- the Aire River. Here are some photos of a very keen paddler in his new kayak. (not as suitable in the surf as our old Penguins but much faster on flat water). There are two camp grounds on either side of the river here for free camping. very busy during the school holidays. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. The three of us. 5 Reason...

Amelia the explorer: October 2012
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Camped just metres from the sea. Through the smoke of our campfire, right next to our kitchen tent! The nearby beach was loads of fun. We checked into a cabin at a caravan park and I retreated into bed for the next two days. Tathra laundry charged $6 each load plus drying of course). Abercrombie Caves- so many photos! It was simply stunning. Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Amelia the explorer: July 2013
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Stuart Tree, near Daly Waters, NT. This is how the tree looks now, and apparently how it also looked in the 1940's judging from this photo of a tour group. The initials apparently carved into the tree are very hard to spot (so many years have passed), and this photo shows what we thought could possibly have been the mark of the famous explorer/ eco-vandal! The sandflies were ...

Amelia the explorer: September 2012
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Sunday, September 30, 2012. Shakedown Trip- Arkaroola (South Australia). ARKAROOLA- Amelia's new favourite word. She says it with such passion and fun. Cooking dinner on the campfire and the wonders of the constellations and night sky. She's finding it a bit strange that "Milky Ways" don't just belong in Nanna's pantry. Lucky our billy's in better shape! But this car won't go- it has no wheels!

Amelia the explorer: June 2014
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Saturday, June 28, 2014. I was going to label this post "on the road again", but that is not an entirely correct title. We are instead travelling, or rather moving back, to Abu Dhabi shortly which is super exciting. Old photos remind us of youth and times gone by. Funnily enough we have so much more to store this time around, which is seriously hampering my ideals of minimalism! Hi, I'm Amelia, a bi...

Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Monday, November 12, 2012. The LONG Pier. (currently closed but the subject of community meetings re. restoration). One of the locals. Thursday, November 8, 2012. Our recent adventures included a local trip around our "backyard" so to speak, into the Otway ranges. It was a public holiday weekend so there were loads of people camping, 4WD-ing and generally enjoying being outdoors. We enjoyed a lovely...

Amelia the explorer: More Daintree dreams
http://ameliatheexplorer.blogspot.com/2013/09/more-daintree-dreams.html
Follow the adventures of one fearless little explorer as she discovers the wonders Australia has to offer. Monday, September 16, 2013. Cape Tribulation was as expected, beautiful, serene and pristine. but we still didn't find any new coconuts. Cape Tribulation was named such in 1770 after Lieutenant James Cook experienced hardship when his vessel was damaged on a nearby reef. Since European settlement the area has been used for mining, timber and farming, but is now mostly a tourist destination. We enjoy...

Hiking In Heels
Wednesday, 16 March 2016. Ladies Day at The Grand National. When it comes to days out in the summer, you will find me first in the que for them all. However, the price of an outfit for each can add up, which is probably why I own so many formal dresses, but not much to wear to work. There is of course the dress code,. Which is more relaxed than at Ascot, but you need to make sure you are following before you turn up in the wrong thing and end up being sent away like Lewis Hamilton last year at Wimbledon&...

Travel and adventure blog. In the Caribbean, east of Puerto Rico and South of Anguilla, is a small island called Sint Maarten (or Saint Martin, depending on who you ask.) The tiny island is divided into two territories: the south (Sint Maarten) belongs to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, while the north (Saint Martin) is owned by France. Here are a few notes and recommendations from my stay:. A restaurant and bar with a fun atmosphere right on the beach. Their grilled mahi mahi was delicious. A cute littl...

My Life in Hollywoodland or Hollywood North.comedy ensues. For the past ten years, I have had more experiences than anyone can imagine in H-town. From working at a studio as a Hollywood exec to bringing in the midnight cheer as a co-host at the Laugh Factory, how could I not share this twisted glamour that taunts those who feel their lives are worthless while sitting at home in Kansas while watching the Oscars?
