Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Ellis' Birth - Part 2. I was not prepared for how emotional I would be after the c-section. I wasn't prepared to feel so alone or isolated. I wasn't prepared to cry myself to sleep or to wake up in the middle of the night fearful that I would end up back at the hospital. Eventually the pain did get easier to bear. I was recovering and I just wanted to go home, to finally be a family. I could not wait for the two hours Niel could visit each day. I will share more in the next entry.

Monday, September 15, 2014. It has been a long time since we have had a new post. WAY TOO LONG! Sometimes it just feels like life happens and there really isnt a whole lot to share. Let me just fill you in a bit on what we have been up to since June. In July we went to Australia to visit my brother Caleb and his wife Amanda. It was Niel's first time to visit. I had not been back to visit since their wedding ten years ago. (TEN years flew by! Yum, just looking at the pics of food makes me want to go back.

Wednesday, December 3, 2014. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We decorated the tree yesterday. We decided to invest is a larger tree this year. I can't stop staring at it. There is something about a tree full of twinkle lights that remind me of Christmases past. Before we moved, our landlord had the house painted and said we could choose the color based off of some samples he gave us. We chose a color and thought it would be a light gray. There was a brief moment where I felt totally guilty that we hadn't brought the kids as it was so magical and fantastic! But of course the moment did pass. The kids and I designed a scavenger hunt on Joel's birthday with the big present in the end being a family night at a Colorado Rockies Game. The Rockies lost (very sad) but I learned about rally caps! Yup, I really didn't know this was a thing.
