Saturday, May 01, 2010. He's huge, nothing but legs. Actually, he was having a rough time nursing because he's so tall he was losing his balance trying to get his head down far enough to nurse. We actually had to milk Whisper this morning and bottle feed him before she leaked out all of her colostrum. He's now clean, warm, dry and nursing on his own. Oh, and we chose his name because he was born on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, and because he looks like a flippin thoroughbred with those legs of his!

Friday, January 11, 2008. Now that the holidays are over I've got a case of the winter blahs. Our pastures are water-logged from all the rain latey and you can barely get to the barn without the mud sucking your boots right off your feet! Our horses seem to like all the mud and roll mercilessly in it every chance they get, they sort of look like overgrown deranged pigs at this point! The girls start swim lessons at the YMCA tomorrow, and are so excited! I'll post pictures of their first lesson next week.

Wednesday, July 07, 2010. One of the neighbors threw candy. I let Eva eat a sucker (her first). She wasn't interested in anything else. Check out the girls, bottom right. Lily is making sure Eva doesn't topple over. After the parade we headed up to Detroit. We spent the evening at the playground. Eva is fearless.
