Texas County Memorial Hospital will host a public grand opening ceremony, including a ribbon cutting, for the 59,000 square foot expansion project on Thur., May 16th at 1 pm. The latest on TCMH's construction project. TCMH South Wing Begins to Come Down. September 6, 2013 by houstonherald. Demolition of the original wing of the hospital, referred to as the South Wing is taking place. Asbestos was removed from the wing earlier in the summer, and much of the wing was gutted–doors, fixtures, etc. removed before the walls began to come down. The large excavator on site removed concrete around the building, trees and shrubs. It will also be used to remove the rubble. July 12, 2012.

The latest on TCMH's construction project. Moving Day Has Arrived! June 14, 2013 by houstonherald. Charles Kartchner of Edgar Springs was the first TCMH inpatient to move into a new room on the medical surgical floor of the hospital’s new construction. Mr Kartchner’s wife and daughter and members of the TCMH nursing staff wheeled Mr. Kartchner and his belongings to room 222, a sunshine filled room on the South side of the building. The latest on TCMH's construction project. Out With the Old! July 26, 2013 by houstonherald. With the new construction and much of the buzz of daily hospital activity moving to the front of TCMH, many people may not know that large dumpsters are on site and areas deep inside the hospital are closed off for additional construction work. The remodel portion of the vacated portions of the hospital are well underway. There are some signs like this and taped off doorways in the original portion of the hospital.
