HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOU? ICAT is run between two advocacy organisations who provide an joint advocacy service for those wishing for support to make complaints about NHS services. The two organisations are: Bradford and Airedale Mental Health Advocacy Group and Choice Advocacy. If you would like to know more about what 'advocacy' is, please refer to the ' What is Advocacy. And ' Making a complaint. You can also download the basic information from the link at the bottom of the page.

HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOU? How can we support you? As an advocacy team, we can support you by undertaking the following role:. Give you information about who to contact for your complaint. Explain the processes for various complaint routes (things differ slightly throughout different NHS bodies). Give you information about timescales for making complaints. Explain what your options might be a various stages of your complaint. Attend meetings with you in relation to your complaint. ICAT What we can do Leaflet.

HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOU? Making a complaint to the NHS may range from concerns, to more serious complaints. You may not be happy with your initial response, and you may wish for it to be looked in to further. ICAT can inform you about what the stages are for each of these circumstances. Below are a number of documents which can help you in the process of making a complaint. The 'Making a Complaint' booklet also has a list of useful contacts at the back to help direct you to the right people.

HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOU? ICat - What is advocacy? Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates and advocacy schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice. Action for Advocacy 2007).
