The Mini War Room: September 2014
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Saturday, 27 September 2014. And now for the freedom factory. So the other half of the trade I picked up. Along with 15 M113A3s, 5 ACAVs and 16 Pattons(I doubt I'll use the Pattons) this makes up the force I grabbed. In the pic are 24 Bradley's, 7 Abrams, 6 M113 mortar carriers, 4 improved tow, and 5 paladins. It's enough for a small combat team, and more importantly for defensive ops against an advancing en. This is going to be a good time. Thursday, 25 September 2014. During my first...

The Mini War Room: February 2015
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Tuesday, 24 February 2015. I haven't written much of late but I have had a number of things, ideas and such rolling through my head. One of them that I hope will become a reoccurring post here, close encounters. In the past I've written about my builds, either in X-Wing or Flames of war, but one thing I don't think I've talked about at length, is my opponents builds. I've had the privilage to play Jeff Paul three times now, twice in the Regional tournament and in the Winter tournament&...

The Mini War Room: March 2015
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Sunday, 1 March 2015. I was only able to stop in at legiocon briefly this year, but it was a sight to see. Amazing tables, great models and even better people. It was a blast and between having beer and gaming on site and a super diverse gaming environment it's a terrific way to spend a weekend. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Regina's late war 1750pt tournament. Darkhorse's Strange Love, Or how I stopped being afraid and learned to love the bomber. View my complete profile. Brandon (pop&#...

The Mini War Room: June 2013
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Tuesday, 18 June 2013. It's been a while but training has take up a ton of my time recently. Thankfully I got to play in a 4000pt total war game at Prairiecon with my Buddy Lance and his son and fearsome competitor Brody. This was my first Total war game and I have to say I like the format, reserves is always good, and with recce and paras coming on at unusual points(compared to a normal game) there was a great balance and a real sense of fog of war. Total Company Points = 2000 points.

The Mini War Room: February 2014
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Sunday, 23 February 2014. So I've long had a love affair with German Heavy armour. I've written a King Tiger Tactica. I have another for Tiger 1Es that I'm still pushing my way through, and well, to be honest I think they look cool and love that people say they can't win. It gets me pretty fired up to do some damage with them. It's like all your favorite stuff all rolled up perfectly" Somehow I managed to miss it the first half dozen times but somewhere in there I took notice and have ...

The Mini War Room: Darkhorse's Strange Love, Or how I stopped being afraid and learned to love the bomber.
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014/11/darkhorses-strange-love-or-how-i.html
The Mini War Room. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. Darkhorse's Strange Love, Or how I stopped being afraid and learned to love the bomber. During my first X-wing tournament (which humorously enough was the first time I played a full 100 pt game) I heard something from a lot of the local players. The only viable Imperial list was the Tie Fighter Swarm. I went into the store the following week and asked what nobody (at the time) flew and I received two answers, Tie Advanced and Tie Bombers. So add to that the...

The Mini War Room: After Action Reviews: A thought on process and returns
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014/11/after-action-reviews-thought-on-process.html
The Mini War Room. Wednesday, 26 November 2014. After Action Reviews: A thought on process and returns. The mighty After Action Review (AAR) is a process by which military (and other) minds analyze combat or other actions with the goal being an understanding of what can be improved, mitigated and learned from the events. So why am I writing about this? So is this just yaking about the game after the game? So what's a hot wash? The importance of the Hot Wash is to get all the learning in right away and no...

The Mini War Room: October 2013
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Monday, 14 October 2013. I swear I'm still not dead, just a little preoccupied. So it's been a while since I've posted anything and I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who've been stopping in to see whats up and or write to see what I'm up to. To be honest I haven't been around lately and that's been the largest factor contributing to my lack of posting. So then, where have I been? I'm pretty excited to delve back into it all when I get back and I'll post up on it when I do.

The Mini War Room: March 2014
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Sunday, 9 March 2014. AAR Regina Rifles FOW Tournament. So this weekend I took off in the Sulaco for parts unknown, or Regina Saskatchewan, whichever came first. I had never played my list before, but in a previous post I let other people pick it so that probably meant it was gonna go well, right? So I took the School of Hard Knocks as I call it, ie the bellow. Panzer Ausbildungs Abteilung 500. Replacement Heavy Tank Force. Panzer Ausbildungs Abteilung 500 HQ. Ausbildungs Panther A or G.

The Mini War Room: April 2014
http://miniwarroom.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Mini War Room. Saturday, 19 April 2014. My new list. Cause only a tie swarm can win. So recently I played in my first game and my first tournament. It was a blast. But one thing I heard again and again was only the tie fighter swarm could win, and that ordinance isn't worth it. So naturally I've decided to run this. So four bombers, three with torpedoes or missiles and Howlrunner. First game was against. Biggs kinda messed up my plans but in the end I only lost Howlrunner albeit to an asteroid. We ha...
