In Defence of First Great Western: December 2007
http://indefenceoffirstgreatwestern.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
In Defence of First Great Western. Sunday, 23 December 2007. Well, after reading the comments to my last post, I am touched at the support I have received and I am glad that the blog has been useful to those of you who read it. Mr anonymous: I still think you should grow some balls and get an ID if you wish to slate me but no matter. I think that I'll leave it to the new year and then I'll see about making my 'triumphant' return. Given the state of things lately, I doubt that I'll be short of material.

Girl on a Train: Please Be Quiet - We're in a Quiet Carriage Don't You Know?
http://grimcommuter.blogspot.com/2007/04/please-be-quiet-were-in-quiet-carriage.html
Girl on a Train. Memoirs of a train traveller. Tuesday, 17 April 2007. Please Be Quiet - We're in a Quiet Carriage Don't You Know? To what extent do South West Trains enforce the ‘ Quiet Carriage’. Not a lot, I think. It’s not a difficult thing to implement, really. The ticket manager just has to tap someone on the shoulder with a noisy I-Pod or interrupt a mobile phone conversation to tell the offender to shift it. However, for passengers, the ‘ Quiet Carriage’. I know all this. I didn’t of course.

Girl on a Train: Much Ado About Nothing
http://grimcommuter.blogspot.com/2007/04/much-ado-about-nothing.html
Girl on a Train. Memoirs of a train traveller. Tuesday, 24 April 2007. Much Ado About Nothing. Sometimes I moan too much about my travelling to work woes. I admit that. That is indeed the point of this whole blog. But last week, something made me smile. I actually took the time to listen to the conversation had by the group of early teens sitting around me. They were discussing their homework. Really! And I hate this observation. I hate it because I know it is true, even though I realise it sounds in...

Sunday, September 21, 2008. Where are the updates? My regular readers (both of you, to borrow a phrase from Terry) will no doubt be wondering why I haven't posted anything for, ooh, several months. thirdratewestern.com: The 7:46 to Bristol
http://thirdratewestern.blogspot.com/2007/10/746-to-bristol.html
Saturday, October 6, 2007. The 7:46 to Bristol. First of all (or should that be, Third of all) let's start with some basic facts and figures. It normally takes around 25 minutes to get from Chippenham to Bristol (or vice versa) via Third Rate Western. Bath Spa is between the two, roughly 12 minutes journey time from either starting point. Between Chippenham and Bath is Bathampton Junction, where the line branches off to Westbury and beyond. Not at all, but of course there's more to it than that. So, I he...

thirdratewestern.com: It's (not) good to be back
http://thirdratewestern.blogspot.com/2008/12/its-not-good-to-be-back.html
Tuesday, December 2, 2008. It's (not) good to be back. Several months with not a single journey requiring the services of Third Rate Western has been most pleasant. Off to London yesterday, though, and even I am not stupid enough to attempt that journey in the car. There's only so much Radio 4 one can tolerate to be honest. So, up early and away we go. Oyster card - check. Check the live departure boards - check. Just what are the chances of that? December 4, 2008 at 4:46 PM. I Hate First Great Western.

Girl on a Train. Memoirs of a train traveller. Friday, 30 March 2007. Endless Endless Engineering Works. Moving on from the poster competition, it's back to business as normal at the Girl on a Train blog. Thankyou for your contributions, I suppose as Blue is disqualified and I am the host, that makes Daniel the winner. Congratulations, you have won this prestigious competition, your poster shall form the epitome of the South West Trains campaign against Bag Morons, perhaps. So, back to business. Well, pe...

Billyo's Blog: September 2007
http://billyosstressrelief.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Hi there, I'm Billyo. This is my blog. Tuesday, September 04, 2007. Lone Demonstration (In Absentia). It finally arrived. Despite the fact that I sent my McDemo. Application form off before my good friend over at I Hate First Great Western. Mark Thomas and his friends have done the business and will protest, on my behalf outside the Department for Transport. (Click see see letter more clearly). For the bargain price of £5). Anyway, Mark Thomas and his friends have been making a mockery of this law, by at...

Girl on a Train: June 2007
http://grimcommuter.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Girl on a Train. Memoirs of a train traveller. Friday, 8 June 2007. Rail Regulators reap benefit of our misery? OK it's been a while since I posted here admittedly - but I've just read something that makes me just a little bit cross so I thought I would share it here. Http:/ www.portsmouth.co.uk/portsmouth-and-southsea? Read this article about how Network rail might get fined by the rail regulator for the months of delays in the South Hampshire region. Hang on a minute? So that makes me cross!

thirdratewestern.com: Drizzle
http://thirdratewestern.blogspot.com/2012/03/drizzle.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Two things to celebrate today. First, a very temporary return to the Chippenham to Bristol service. And secondly, I appear to have a follower / stalker commenting on a lot of my blog posts but seemingly ignoring the ironic / sarcastic tone and taking it rather too seriously. It's great to be back. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A message to First Great Western. Perhaps if you started listening to your customers, this website might go away. Amazing theory, isn't it? At least...
