With the Invader back up to speed, there was some much needed items on the to do list needing to be finished. For all of you who say, "But it's a dry heat! You are correct but so is an oven! Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Monday, April 24, 2006. Testing, Testing, Testing. After working the items that needed fixing, and fighting of the flu from hell, we were ready to test the Jet Nightmare for our friends south of the border. A call here, an email there, a short 6 hour drive and our friends are in Phoenix. The call came for us and we waited in the staging lanes. The short wait turned into an hour and a half as a bracket car dumped all his oil in the right lane from the star...

Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Friday, November 17, 2006. The season finished for us after the Texas/Louisiana Race. We had a couple others lined up but for reasons I won't get into they never happened. That did not mean we were all just kicking back, just going in different directions. I took some long delayed time to spend with the family, two yes TWO trips to Disneyland in a matter of weeks. We also went up to Las Vegas for my sister's wedding, so then it was back to the grind! During t...

Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Sunday, January 27, 2008. Ok, time for another update! This fall has brought a busy time for the team. In September, we headed out to Sacramento Raceway’s Governor’s Cup race. It was a two day race, but the jets were scheduled only to make runs on Saturday. We dropped off the car and trailer on Friday afternoon, and just hung out watching the Nostalgia Dragsters and the CIFCA funny cars make their qualifying passes. For the second round we tried a couple of t...

Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Monday, August 07, 2006. Well the Texas trip started even before we left! All the planning, hard work, expectations gone in less then six seconds! Our friends from Hurricane Country, started their road trip before us. Right out of the gate, they ran at Nashville. (See their recap at jetdragster.blogspot.com) The moon and stars were misaligned, and tap it was over. Everyone was okay, but just a little less straight! The homes had huge shops, rigs, and car in t...

Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Thursday, July 19, 2007. NHRA Countdown to the Championship. We have been working with Valusoft and THQ over the winter and it is finally making its debut in August. It is called NHRA Countdown to the Championship for the Playstation 2 and the Playstation Portable. The unique car handling physics and tuning properties of the jets adds a new degree of challenge and variety with fireballs, glowing jet exhaust, and lens flares to boost the visuals.

Random thoughts over the 2009 Jet Car Season. Friday, March 24, 2006. When two worlds or more collide. That is what happens when the jet car season spools up at the same time as life happens. Jet car world meets Girl Scouts! We always try to working things so they don't conflict with each other but sometimes CRASH! She and another troop leader took on an additional fund raiser to help out the neighborhood. That's my girl! It's cool except for the 900 boxes of cookies in my garage! If that was not enough,...

Jet Car Archive: March 2006
http://jetcararchive.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 25, 2006. A newer family in the jet car ranks came a few years ago, Mark and Sheila Smith. Mark, Sheila and their two sons toured the U.S. based out of Missouri. The Wild Thing is a GE J-85 powered dragster. After running the car for a couple of seasons, they freshened it up with a new paint job and a new name, Air Force 1. While recupperating, the Smith's were already building the new Air Force 1. By the time the season started Mark was recovered and back racing. The Green Mamba has been...
