Sunday, January 8, 2012. I Am Not Afraid of the Pressure Cooker.I Am Not Afraid of the Pressure Cooker. So here I am trying to "teach" her how to do all these things that I don't know how to do. Of the many things she's twisted my arm into doing I have found that I just might like canning. I have 200 empty jars and I figure it's time to fill them. Next on the list: stewed chicken, carrots, kidney beans and pinto beans. I'll let you know how it goes. Posted by Being A Mother Who Knows. Determination turne...

Blog has moved, searching new blog. Sunday, March 23, 2014. Sacred Music for Easter. And there is something special about a springtime Sabbath that is especially appealing. Perhaps the magic lies in the renewal of the seasons: the sunlight bringing added warmth in its rays; the crocuses and daffodils in bloom; fruit trees budding with promise. It echos the promise each of us have of new life through our Savior. The first is a sacred oratorio written by Rob Gardner, The Lamb of God. Are two of my all-time...

little wonders: September 2010
http://sharipovfamily.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Life In the Burrow. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. We went to the zoo today, and for the first time, the girls got to hold and feed the lorakeets- they had so much fun, especially Belle, who is always trying to catch birds in the back yard. Thanks to Baba for helping the girls! We went to the Science Museum before the zoo where they painted their faces, but I think the colors match nicely with the lorakeets! Notice the one on Maya's shoulder. We had a great time; we love the zoo! Posted by Sharipov Family.

Life In the Burrow. Sunday, October 7, 2012. I am having a hard time deciding where to begin here, since I haven't written anything in a while, but there are a few things I want to write down before I forget! Anyhow, I just don't want to forget the things that I am grateful for, like. Raistlin's cute little fat feet.,. Maya's happy little self,. The back yard that we love,. And friends to come play in it! How much Belle loves horses right now,. And breakfast in bed on birthdays! And going for bike rides.

The Sushi Snob: ICP Awareness
http://the-sushi-snob.blogspot.com/p/icp-awareness_27.html
I have become passionate about spreading awareness of cholestasis because more stillbirths are caused by this liver disorder than by Gestational Diabetes and Pre-eclampsia, and too many medical professionals still don't recognize the seriousness of this. Also, since I am a third generation Itchy Mom, I have most likely passed this on to my daughter. It is my hope that by the time she reaches childbearing age, doctors will know more about it. Some links to blog posts I have written on the subject:. Why do...

Blog has moved, searching new blog. Monday, May 12, 2014. The day after Mother's Day. A morning in which we awaken after a day of praise and adulation and get back to work as usual. A day when we can't help but compare our lives to the idealized portrayals lauded from pulpits and Hallmark cards across the country. A time when we try our best to take the compliments and roll with it, while wondering in our heart of hearts if we're really doing enough to deserve it. Little things do count. Sister Patricia ...

Blog has moved, searching new blog. Thursday, July 17, 2014. Last December I read a fascinating article about the Japanese art of Kintsugi. Also referred to as Kintsukuroi. Which is the tradition of fixing broken pottery with a kind of lacquer resin that is typically mixed with precious metals to create something even more beautiful. I wanted to move mountains. Top of the world, here she comes. In all outward appearances I tried to keep things together, until everything came crashing down on top of me in...
