On most days, when we walk along the bay shore, we see an egret or two. And most often it is a large impressive common egret. The smaller snowy egret seems to prefer north bay waters and is less often seen near south bay shores. But sometimes we get lucky. The Snowy Egret is much smaller than the Common Egret. But it has always been foggy, drippy, or otherwise poor photo weather. It fishes this stretch of the Elk River as it reaches the bay. Well, today we got lucky.
