Many years ago, a pants presser with a remarkable resemblance to the then President of the United States was recruited by the CIA to train as a stand-in for the chief-of-state if the need should arise. After six months of grueling training the presser sat at a desk in the Pentagon and was never called on to serve. To deal with the "a blog post is prior publication" mind-set of some editors, I've shown only stories that have already been published in ezines or other venues. It's a silly mind-set, isn't it, to say that sharing something on a blog dq's a piece from being published somewhere else, especially when most of the webzines don't buy rights?
