John Clapp's "On Christmas Eve"
http://www.johnclapp.com/book_pages/book_oce.html
It was a long drive to Aunt Cleo's house, but that was okay, it was Christmas Eve. It began to snow lightly as they crossed the state line, and then the storm grew thicker, until they were forced to pull over and spend Christmas Eve at a motel, a motel without a chimney- or even a mailbox. As they lay in the dark motel room, it didn't feel like Christmas. But a young boy's Christmas wish finds its way to Santa, and creates a night he will remember forever. Listed as a modern favorite.

John Clapp's "Shining"
http://www.johnclapp.com/book_pages/book_shining.html
Long ago in a mountain village, a girl called Shining was born. As black as wisdom, with a gaze as bottomless as the unknown, Shining is as quiet as the night. Although she is silent, her parents are devoted and steadfast in their love for her. What they cannot know, as she grows, is that the day will come when the mystery will end and they will come to understand her silence. One day, Shining will be the leader of her people. S.L.A.P. Blog (Scott LaFleur Animation Person Blog): January 2009
http://slapblog.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 4, 2009. I took some notes along the way and Ill share those too. The first is just a simple change up to see how fleshy I could make the face feel. Again the animation isn't very good but it helped me to see what I could do to really make the face feel connected. The second is taking that idea and applying it to more change ups with some minor upper body animation. Use lid sculpt controls to keep the lids connected to the brows and cheeks. Arc the corners of the mouth. Brow to Brow conne...

Winter is past—the little bee resumes. Her share of sun and shade and oer the lea. Hums its first hymnings to the flowers perfumes. Wakes a sense of gratfulness in me. The little daisey keeps its wonted pace. Ere march by april gets disarmd of snow. A look of joy opes on its smiling face. Turnd to that power that suffers it to blow. Ah pleasant time as pleasing as ye be. One still more pleasing, hope reserves for me. Where suns unsetting one long summer shine. O may the good mans righteous end be mine.
