Balanced movement through core stability. Pilates is an intelligent exercise system that helps to lengthen and strengthen muscles and improve posture. It can help to give you a flatter stomach, more supple joints and a stronger back. Some people even say that they've become taller as the alignment of their spine has improved. It helps the body recover from injury or illness as well as improving general fitness and sporting performance.

Balance and movement through core stability. Advice on the way to treat low back pain has changed recently. It is now known that prolonged rest can do more harm than good. Although you may need to rest for a day or two, it is exercise that will aid recovery. To help sufferers to manage their symptoms. Body Control PIlates, in association with Backcare and the Register of Exercise Professionals, has developed a Pilates programme for the management of back pain called “Back4Good”.

Matwork or Equipment

Balance and movement through core stability. Pilates may be practiced as matwork or by using equipment. Matwork uses body weight, often supplemented by the use of small equipment, including balls, bands and weights, to provide a full work out. Studio classes use the larger pieces of equipment designed by Joseph Pilates to increase resistance and to support and challenge the workout.

You have reached a stretch of flower-filled fields and forest overlooking the sea. The first building is small, made of large windows supported by concrete and plywood.
