Born in a Hurricane: Prison Is No Place For A Lady
http://borninahurricane.blogspot.com/2009/10/prison-is-no-place-for-lady.html
Born in a Hurricane. It's true. ask my mom. Saturday, October 31, 2009. Prison Is No Place For A Lady. FAIR WARNING: ADULT CONTENT BELOW. In honor of my Halloween costume, here is the story that inspired it! I was arrested for public drunkenness on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, LA and went to prison. They made me wear an orange jumpsuit that said INMATE down the side and my cell mates were murderers and they kept me for 24hours and my cell mates yelled at me to stop crying. Maux talked back to a cop.

Born in a Hurricane. It's true. ask my mom. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Are you down with the OPP? Today is the one year anniversary of when I had to spend the night with you. This morning George sent me this picture of when we beat the Public DrunkAness rap in your pony court. Look at how happy I am to be free of your grubby clutches! Also, OPP (Orleans Parish Prison), you are not being portrayed too kindly on the new HBO series "Treme." I suggest you get your act together. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Born in a Hurricane. It's true. ask my mom. Friday, May 2, 2014. Watching New Orleans Jazz Fest live on TV. What a difference five years makes. In 2009 I was missing the Friday shows because I'd been arrested for public drunkenness on Bourbon Street the night before. Now I'm watching it on PBS from the couch while breastfeeding my baby. #thingschange #andnowwehashtageverythingtoo. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). It's a secret blog within a blog! Born In A Hurricane.

Strong. Happy. Mom.: June 2011
http://stronghappymom.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Strong. Happy. Mom. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Healthy eating and food are always hot topics in our house; between Dan's profession and mine, we are always discussing good foods and more importantly, good food habits. Enter Ryan, our helpless, impressionable 10 month old. A guinea pig, really. These are some of Ryan's favorite foods. Corn (preferably on the cob). Other undocumented favorites include: black olives, avocados, and mangos. Our approach: We want Ryan to eat what we eat. Labels: Food for Thought.

Born in a Hurricane: November 2009
http://borninahurricane.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Born in a Hurricane. It's true. ask my mom. Tuesday, November 3, 2009. You know you live in Louisiana when. This is what you're buying at Wal-Mart:. I've got flat hair, rodents, and I can't be reassured from normal pregnancy tests so I need the digital ones. Thank you, Elaine, for the baby fever that has descended upon our calm abode. Don't freak, I'm not prego, I just wanted to scare myself and maybe join the baby momma club the Louisiana way, unwed and poor as shit. Don't Fear the Tarantula. Heck yes t...

Born in a Hurricane: Don't Fear the Tarantula
http://borninahurricane.blogspot.com/2009/11/dont-fear-tarantula.html
Born in a Hurricane. It's true. ask my mom. Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Don't Fear the Tarantula. I think motorcycles are. I like the way they sound: loud, guttural, moaning engine. I like the way they look: sleek, powerful, fast. I like the way they smell: the smell of escape and lawlessness. I like the way people on motorcycles look when you see them riding free and fast on the highway or a country road: like rebel outlaws. I like the book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig.

Enigma No More...: January 2012
http://brigidpreknown.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Where I detail how completely we can resemble one another. Thursday, January 19, 2012. I've read every one of your books. Most of them several times. And I have come to a conclusion. You have written, through 3 of your 5 novels, and through 3 of your many characters, a variation of a recipe for the girl living my life thus far. Although I know there are probably 30,000 teenagers who are saying the same thing that I am right now, I feel like I'm on a different plane. I'm sure they do as well. Okay, so eve...
