Parameswara Mangalam Kailasanathar Temple was built- as per archaeological records- during 9th century AD by Nirbatungavarma Pallavan- The last in the lineage of the great Mahendravarma Pallavan. This east facing temple was built in the middle of Palar river -about 75 meters from the southern bank of the river Palar, on top of a natural rock formation. A Vimanam over the Moolavar up to 17ft height and complete dismantling of the structure over the Ambal (Consort) and reconstruction of the same with a Vimanam over it. Reclamation of part of land in the northeast corner of the temple to create space in front and to shift the Navagrahas from inside. Constrution of a 1800sft Mandapam on the South side of the temple. Levelling of the area around the temple and paving it for devotees to walk around. Cost (in Rs.). Paving tiles, steel gates and plants.
