A day at the beach. After we farewelled mum and dad at airport on Sunday, we spent the rest of the Eid public holiday at the beach. The weather in the UAE is about 10 degrees cooler than when we first arrived so people are beginning to return to the beaches where the water is no longer like a hot bath. more like a tepid one. Introducing Mark and Cleo - our new "pets"! We have new feathered friends in our lives, and they are gorgeous! We got in the habit of putting out the birdseed in the morning at roughly the same time. Now, the birds patiently wait in the nearby tree for us to feed them each day. On Monday 23rd July we flew to Turkey for a 10-day trip (our holiday within our holiday! We spent three days in Istanbul, which is a fascinating city and full of plenty of old treasures from the Constantinople days.
