Just another WordPress.com site. 2012: Year in Review. May 15, 2013. Oops, we did it again. We have neglected our blog for many moons now, and we totally understand if we’ve fallen off your radar! 8 (when I started this post we were only at 4) months have been a hugely transitional period for us. To help summarize the best and worst since we last blogged, we thought we’d start out with a quick highs/lows of 2012 (always fun to take a trip down memory lane). We celebrated our 1. My mom turned 60! Raleigh:...

Angkor what?! | theroadlaingstravelled

Just another WordPress.com site. December 18, 2011. We spent a week in Siem Reap, Cambodia 2 weeks ago. It was originally a work trip for me (Sarah)–a regional training as part of my fellowship–that we decided to double as a little getaway for us. We left a day early and stayed the weekend, which we found out was just enough time to get in some temples and R&R. Like even in the States, you can say that in the countryside, people just have more time for you, and there’s not so much stress, you know? And i...

Just another WordPress.com site. December 8, 2011. Ok so the first thing I have to write about isn’t too amazing, just a good lesson in Honesty. We have recently bought a motor bike, a Honda MB-Bonus125, it’s a full size bike, something I needed as the scooters here are just too small for me. My first thoughts were its Vietnam, it happens all the time and no one owns up . I also didn’t want to be ripped off by being asked to pay a high price just because I was a foreigner. My Father handled it for me!

Just another WordPress.com site. June 29, 2012. This slideshow requires JavaScript. I forgot to mention in the Mommy post. That we took her up to Hoi An for a 3 day getaway to a quieter, more quaint Vietnam experience. It was our first time to, and though it was swelteringly hot, the beach was amazing! Just some more pics to enjoy🙂. From → Vietnam. Larr; Mom takes a ride on the wild side! 2012: Year in Review →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Peek-a-boo sunshine | theroadlaingstravelled
https://theroadlaingstravelled.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/peek-a-boo-sunshine
Just another WordPress.com site. May 12, 2012. We’ve officially entered rainy season in Viet Nam, but this was a moment of respite. We took this when our friend Neill was visiting us this past week. David and Neill were good “mates” (ough, British words) from Durban and he stopped by to say hi while traveling around SE Asia. Nothing like an old friend visiting to bring a little bit of sunshine to our expat life🙂. If they look tired, it’s from the late nights catching up over beer…🙂. From → Vietnam.

One year mark. | theroadlaingstravelled

Just another WordPress.com site. May 2, 2012. I’ve been staring at our wordpress.com site for a few months now, figuring out how and what to update on. I think in our world of endless information/stimulation, it’s hard to make something “news worthy” these days, no? For us, it literally felt like a lock snapping into place. One day we’re feeling homesick and nomadic, talking about how we want to move back to South Africa as soon as possible; the next we are praying about staying in VN longer! You are com...

Christmas in Dubai | theroadlaingstravelled

Just another WordPress.com site. February 8, 2012. Okay, so a lot has been happening in our family since we last posted. There’s a lot to catch up on, but for now we’ll just start off with Christmas 2011. We spent this past Christmas with David’s brother, Brandon, and his family in Dubai. Interesting, huh? Christmas, in a Muslim nation, in the desert. While it wasn’t very traditional (this Chicago girl needs snow for it to count as Christmas! And our niece Hadassah sacrificed her room (en suite bath!

Just another WordPress.com site. Mom takes a ride on the wild side! June 21, 2012. So I had written a whole explanation about Korean birthdays and then somehow it got deleted so here we go again but probably not as much in detail:. And your 60th birthday, the. Yummmm. They’re called. That’s a long time! But sa...
