Where in the world would you like to be right now? | 2015: The Year of Katie
https://katiein2015.wordpress.com/2015/02/02/where-in-the-world-would-you-like-to-be-right-now
2015: The Year of Katie. Where in the world would you like to be right now? Hen we hear that question, we often hear responses like “I’d love to go to Paris,” or “I want to see the Colosseum,” or even the less cultured “In bed.” For me, the answer to that question today is not quite so extravagant. I’d like to be somewhere I’ve spent so much time already, but loved every minute. We didn’t go on extravagant vacations to Disney or Europe when I was a kid. Our vacations con. Something I’m very gratefu...

2015: The Year of Katie. Monthly Archives: April 2015. Saturday was an exciting day. Every week, I try my best to wait until Sunday to check the scale. The day-to-day fluctuations, and the fact that the scale can’t move that quickly made me put the scale in the cupboard so it wouldn’t be my focus. However, for some reason, this week, I reeaally wanted to check it out on Saturday morning. And I was so happy I did. The date should be Jan. 2nd. Dec. 1st is when I signed up for the site. If you’re look...

2015: The Year of Katie. Monthly Archives: July 2015. It’s amazing how fast time can move, especially when you aren’t drowning in your own anxieties. I’m halfway through 2015 and so far, it has been a much better year. I don’t know exactly why, but life just seems a little lighter than it did this time last year. So I thought I’d do a checklist of what I’ve accomplished and then a 2015.5 resolution list, to keep myself motivated. From January to July I’ve:. Knit myself a sweater. 2015: The Year of Katie.

2015: The Year of Katie. Fat people hate (and why we NEED the body acceptance movement). That’s right. I frequently make my weight scale sad, and my BMI is screaming at me. I’m working to change that, but for the time being, I’m a fatty. But I shouldn’t be hated for being fat. A couple of months ago I was browsing Reddit. And on the front page I noticed a post from a sub-reddit called “fat-people hate.”. Do you know why we need the body acceptance movement? For me, it’s taken a very long time to ac...
Be the best _______ you can be. | 2015: The Year of Katie
https://katiein2015.wordpress.com/2015/03/17/be-the-best-_______-you-can-be
2015: The Year of Katie. Be the best you can be. In light of recent events (AKA Blizzard Fest 2015), I couldn’t help but think of how even small acts of kindness can go a long way, or even the inverse, that simple acts gone undone can also go a long way. Fat people hate (and why we NEED the body acceptance movement). Katie -20 ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. I Knew I Was Having a Slow Year…. August 11, 2015. I really had no idea how little I had accomplished from a crafting standpoint until, on a whim, I looked at my FOs for the year. Considering I have, for the past several years, completed in the neighbourhood of 25 knitted projects over the span of the year, I’d say calling this one slow is a massive understatement. I have, to date in 2015, completed exactly five. I took a sewing class, although, if I am...

We each had a specified amount to spend and I thought, “What would I like to buy from this newfound wealth? 8221; He bought a new iPad Air, but frankly, except for the fact that I’d like it to have a larger capacity, I could not justify a new iPad. So I started thinking, what crafting supplies have I wanted but have yet to spend the money to purchase? When I was done ...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. A Visit to Yarn Cove! March 30, 2016. I know….my second posts in two days. A shocker to most of you, for sure but I am making an attempt to get back into the swing of things. That being said, this will be a short one. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: June 2015. June 19, 2015. So, it’s day 3 without Facebook and with decidedly less social media. There have been stumbling blocks. On the bright side, I spent some quality time knitting yesterday morning, out in the beautiful sunshine, and the leg of my mom’s black Petty Harbour. Sock is growing a few 4-row repeats at a time. I promised them to her for autumn and I’ll never hear the end of it if they’re not ready! Crafting (or lack ther...

Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Thursday, December 22. After one day of teaching at GRACE, I fell back in the my standard routine of going to Assisi in the morning and SEAM in the evening. Our task at Assisi was to decorate for Christmas. We created an assembly line of sorts for the children to paint a Christmas tree, holly, flowers and bulbs. The kids stayed focused on this task for well over an hour. We even had Sister Rose and Sister Matilda helping out too. Monday, December 26, 2011. The founder of the h...

I still really don’t get the rules of American football, but it was exciting cheering for the Bombers every time we got a touchdown and joining in with the football chants like “let’s go bombers” (not very original) and “na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye! 8221; (when the Cortland supporters started leaving before the match had even finished! Katie In Art Class. Previous Work: Part I. These are a couple images from the Drawing I class I took last year. (more…). August 27, 2009 at 1:28 AM. Katie In Art Class. Due to the overwhelming popularity of my previous blog, Katie In Thailand. Plus, since I plan on keeping the majority of this image based, there will significantly less text, that way you can spend less time reading and more time scrolling. Brilliantly efficient, I say. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. My supervisor, Kimberly, wrote this is her daily prayer:. September 28, 2010 … Tender Moments. God, I am thankful for the reminder I received this afternoon of “why we do what we do here at the OAC”…. God, thank you for George. Thank you for Katie. Thank you for the steps they have made together. Thank you for this tender moment I experienced today that served as a huge reminder of why we are here! Thanks be to God! Now I feel as though my YAV year is finally over. That w...
