When a student, in the hazy distant days beyond recall, I designed pots on graph paper using only geometric shapes – squares, circles, rectangles and triangles. My task was to turn these silhouettes into concrete pieces. That exercise, and the lessons I learned from it have stayed with me throughout my potting career. The emotional impact of colour and the subtleties of levels of texture all play a part towards the power of the finished piece. 2 years Foundation Course. Post Graduate Teacher Training.
