Living in Guatemala

Monday, April 30, 2012. Mom and Dad in Guatemala.a FULL week! About a month ago my parents joined Travis and I in Guatemala for a week…a very FULL week! Check out our itinerary:. Living in Guatemala: November 2011

http://kaycierupp.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 24, 2011. Volcano Pacaya. 533 days later. On Saturday, November 12, Kaycie and I hiked Volcano Pacaya. Last year, during our international service trip with the NWU group Global Service Learning, we made similar plans to hike the same volcano for Saturday, May 29, 2010. GSL never climbed Volcano Pacaya; it erupted on May 27. Well, GSL… A mere 76 weeks later, Kaycie and I made it to the top (barely)! A view after (approx.) 15 minutes of hiking. Scenic stop at Laguna de Calderas. Much to...

Living in Guatemala: Monterrico Beach

http://kaycierupp.blogspot.com/2012/04/monterrico-beach.html

Sunday, April 1, 2012. It's been over four months since Kaycie and I have added to our blog. Ironically, we have been too busy "Living in Guatemala! A lot has changed. I'll try my best to update without overwhelming. After working November and December, Kaycie and I decided to spend the holiday with family. We returned to Nebraska for the last week of 2011. It was a great vacation, although it felt like a short one. Upon returning to Guatemala, we said despedida. Those windows look out onto the beach.

Living in Guatemala: December 2011

http://kaycierupp.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Lake Atitlan and Chichicastenango. I do know, the word was not Nebraska, because that is actually Oto for “Flat Water.” Did you already know that? Speaking of Nebraska, you know how school lets out in May-June and begin again in August-September? For the remainder of the blog, Kaycie has added the best photos and some videos from our weekend in Atitlán (she deserves credit for all the captions, too). Our snack before the tour at the lake. Getting ready to to start our tour!

Thursday, March 12, 2015. At the beginning of the new year, I decided I wanted to do my gospel study by topics instead of just reading cover to cover. I feel like I could do this forever since there are SO many topics! I knew my first topic needed to be the Atonement. I've attempted to study it so many times, but always flake out. I think mostly because, as wonderful as the Atonement is, I was afraid of it. Yes Afraid of the Atonement. 1 Would I understand it? But I committed to do it this time! How the ...

Sunday, September 14, 2014. In the end we threw out a cup of green beans and the composter got fed. Sounds perfectly easy, right? Maybe it isn't that bad, but I was really upset there was a smell when the lid was sealed. Sunday, August 24, 2014. A New Book and Self Reflection. I've been moving through books rather fast lately, likely due to having almost two weeks off of school and I picked up an old book I've started reading twice before and then abandoned. The book is called. Science Fair I had won&#46...

Let me just tell you about my weekend with Brinn. 3:00 I get my baby. 4-9 I have a choir concert so my baby is turned off. 9:00 my baby turns on, but is asleep. 10:30am Brinn is hungry. 9:10 The ...
