A kidney for mom. Monday, October 24, 2011. A path is chosen for you. The phone rang, it was my mom. I just talked to the doctor she said, and my kidney function has dropped to about 20 percent. I'm going to need a kidney transplant! I felt like I had plunged into ice water, the breath was sucked out of me like a vacuum.
