My first trip to Japan in March 2011 started out as a graduation gift and turned out to be a life-altering event in more ways than one. Although the trip was cut short by the devastating twin disasters of 3.11.11, that trip changed my life and I plan on returning to Japan as many times as I can over the course of my lifetime. I hope that I can share some of my experiences with my friends and family back home through this site.

Didn't make it to Mikimoto island on account of the weather, but we did visit the Azuchi Momoyama Bunka Mura ninja and samurai theme park. That's right, a ninja theme park. Wednesday, 21 March 2012. Where did the time go? I have no concept of what day of the week it is, or even what city we're in (Kyoto, for the record), the days have just blurred together because we've been in a different city every night almost! But my motion sickness is crippling, so I spend most of my time trying to sleep away the nausea. It is late here now and we have another long day of traveling tomorrow so I apologize for glazing over some of the details again in this post! They even had a sloth!

Tuesday, 27 March 2012. And cue jet lag. Sleeping in my own bed has never felt so good. Flight was LONG with some turbulence but we made it home in one piece, and with all of our luggage. They didn't even confiscate my throwing stars that I bought from the Ninja castle. Score!
