8212; Main Menu —. 這裡談的 資本主義 ，指的是從18世紀末西方工業革命開始，由於生產力大幅提升，引發社會、政治及經濟制度上徹底改變的一段時期，這種改變源於歐洲，藉由貿易或戰爭擴張至全球各地，至今仍在發生，而台灣是屬於在二戰後 1950年 被劃入全球經濟體系，進而快速資本主義化的東亞新興經濟體。 身上穿的衣服、午餐吃的便當，到每天離不開的手機和電腦…不論是必需品或奢侈品，都必須透過購買行為 給付貨幣 獲得。 從前人們也會生產商品進行交易，但手工製造數量有限，且目的是為了交換自己所不生產的東西，是 滿足需要 而非 獲得財富。 於是，資本主義社會下，人出現了最基本的階級分化 擁有生產工具的 雇主 資產階級. 資本(capital) 聽起來抽象，其實它的字源指的是動物的數量 頭 ，擁有愈多動物就愈富有，漸漸演變成古代歐洲測量財富的方式。 資本家想獲取最大利潤，就必須 降低生產成本 ，降低成本基本上可透過兩種方式，一是對僱用的勞工下手，盡可能壓低人力成本; 二是提高生產力及生產效率，也就是提高機器效能、擴大廠房等，生產出更多商品，但這需要更大量的資本才能做到。
