Monday, July 13, 2015. Time for an update! The few foods that are working for him right now are avocados and bananas. Those are the only things that he has been able to feed himself at this point. As he has his surgeries he'll be able to eat more as time goes on, but we would love any suggestions form other cleft moms for good foods to try until he has his soft palate surgery :). I'm Ashley and author of this blog! That's my cute family my husband Mac, our beautiful Bostyn, and sweet Riley. Riley was born with a birth defect known as a Cleft Lip and Palate. He has a complete unilateral cleft. (Meaning his cleft goes from the front of his face all the way to the back. Nose, lip, gum line, hard palate, to the soft palate. ) He inherited this from his smoking hot dad :) I couldn't love their faces more if I tried! I'm a stay at home mom and I love the job!
