Sunday, April 29, 2007. ******* of Carolina" by Dorothy Allison. ******* of Carolina" by Dorothy Allison is a great book. It was hard for me to put it down, after I began to read it. This story almost seemed familiar because we have heard of similar situations like this in society today. I felt extremely bad for Bone while I was reading. All she wanted was attention, love and care from her mother, Anney. She was deprived of that positive attention that normal little young girls receive. After going over ...

Nicole: "Barn Burning"

http://literature50.blogspot.com/2007/02/barn-burning.html

Sunday, February 25, 2007. Barn Burning" by William Faulkner was difficult to understand the first time I read it. I thought I understood, then all of a sudden it would take a turn and I would be lost again. The father was shot at the end, which was not given to us, we as readers have to figure that out, just like the last Faulkner story, "An Odor of Verbena". I dont like how Faulkner makes us figure out what happens at the end, instead of just coming out and telling us, he was shot.

Sunday, March 25, 2007. A streetcar named desire. Blanche shows she is out of reality throughout the play, but one example is when she was dating the seventeen year old boy. She knew it couldnt work out becuase he was seventeen and she was his teacher. But she kind of blocked it out of her mind and just went for it. March 26, 2007 at 8:58 PM. March 27, 2007 at 2:49 PM. Saturday, March 31, 2007. Streetcar the play vs. Streetcar the film. I pictured Stanley a little. Differently than he was in the film. In the reading, I pictured him very violent and always needing power over everyone, which he showed in the film, but i pictured him looking a little more intimidating. Sunday, March 25, 2007. I'm Quite Illiterate, but I Read A Lot. Wednesday, May 4, 2011. April Flowers Bring Pymalion. It's spring, and what a way to start off the new season with flowers and an image make-over. Pygmalion. Martes, 18 de marzo de 2014. The Story of An Hour". Knowing that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble, great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband's death. There stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy armchair. Into this she sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul. She sat with her head thrown back upon the cushion of the chair, quite motionless, except when a sob came up into her th...
