Living, Learning and Getting Loves: June 2014

http://www.livinglearningloves.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Living, Learning and Getting Loves. Sharing insights from the Campbell family as live, learn and love. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Samuel Jonathan - 3 Months. Wow, 1/4 of a year has flown by! I'm not sure if it is the lack of sleep that makes it seem so fast, or the joy of having a new member in our family. Whatever the case, here's what Samuel has been up to this month:. 14 lbs 2 oz. Still dark brown and getting somewhat fuller on top. Happy 1st Father's Day! Being tickled under his ears. Eating with Momm...

Living, Learning and Getting Loves. Sharing insights from the Campbell family as live, learn and love. Sunday, January 11, 2015. Corrie ten Boom - Part I. A few weeks ago a good friend of mine asked me to join a book club, reading a new book each month. If you know me well enough to know my reading habits, you know that one book a month was a sporty goal before Samuel was born, much less now that he's learning to walk and crawling all over! Yep, I was pretty amazed. Corrie had heard the word "sex" mentio...

Living, Learning and Getting Loves. Sharing insights from the Campbell family as live, learn and love. Friday, January 23, 2015. Samuel Jonathan - 10 months. T minus 2 months until the big 01! The biggest take away from month 10 is that Samuel has learned that mobility means he can do a lot that he used to not be able to, and often ought not do! 30 1/4 inches ( 1 inch this month). 208 lbs ( 0.5 lbs this month). Light brown and growing fuller. Eating bread and beans. No, Mommy, I don't like broccoli today!

The Turner Home: "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce."

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2015/05/build-houses-and-settle-down-plant.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.". I've wanted a garden for years. Growing your own food and coming in with a handful of it sounds amazing. I get so excited about Reed experience watching food grow. So being able to compost a lot of our own food waste and paper waste was really appealing. And then I could use it in a garden! I've read and really enjoyed The Circle Maker. James 5:7 - Be patient, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the...

The Turner Home: December 2014

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Melanie - 1 year! We are officially weaned! The last month we have only been doing bedtime nursing (which was very short) so I could tell she was ready. Melanie went to bed last night with absolutely no problem and slept all night. Now I can actually leave in the evenings if I want to (or even go on a vacation *GASP*) without needing to be home to nurse that sweet baby before bed. Mels is a pro at the sippy cup and still loves these foods:. 1 Year old, which means SUGAR! How To...

The Turner Home: March 2015

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Melanie - 16 Months. Sleeping through the night and one nap a day at 1pm. Melanie is starting to find her voice. She will protest when she doesn't get her way or when Reed stops her from doing what she wants. She is so easy going most of the time that I'm not surprised it has taken her so long to start giving us "attitude.". Feeding herself with utensils: Oh it's a total mess, but she loves it and I know she's learning. When she can't get onto the couch by herself. Separation s...

The Turner Home: Reed update - 3 years!

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2015/07/reed-update-3-years.html

Sunday, July 19, 2015. Reed update - 3 years! Inches (the Dr. thought this was wrong, as she looked back at the data and saw he was 35 inches last year. We re-measured and, sure enough, he was 40 inches. He grew 5 inches in a year! We are still on the toddler diet. A.K.A. eat everything one day and nothing the next. Chocolate A.K.A. choc-wit. Anything un-healthy: as we have been potty training, he got LOTS of treats as motivation. Jumping, running, going fast. Taking toys from Melanie. First out of town ...

The Turner Home: March 2014

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 13, 2014. So our house was a little ugly when we bought it. Truth: I hated it and wanted to mark it off our list. Anyway, somehow we ended up choosing this house with the idea that we would be making some changes. Compared to some, it was a pretty easy update. We didn't have to do bathrooms or the kitchen. First up was painting: the gray-white walls and brown trim had to go! We are SO happy we did this. Also really happy we painted the brick. So that's that. Just some minor projects l...

The Turner Home: September 2014

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 25, 2014. As I walked by the Cheerios scattered around the den floor tonight, I thought "I really do need to clean these up. They've been there since Tuesday." But then another string of thought popped into my mind: "I'm sure Mel will eat some tomorrow. That's one snack I don't have to figure out." As I contemplate my next move I carefully step around the Cheerios so she'll have more to fill her up tomorrow. Links to this post. Friday, September 12, 2014. The Daddy and the Fashionista.

The Turner Home: May 2015

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 28, 2015. Melanie - 18 months. Sister-girl LOVES to eat, and most of the time it's whatever someone else has. She regularly whines until she gets a bite off someone else's plate. Some of her faves include: yogurt, carrots, peas, beans, and blackberries. Sleeping through the night and one nap a day at 1pm. Going places: when someone leaves and doesn't take Melanie, the fit as described above begins. When Daddy gets home. Books: We read tons of books and she has to sleep with one. Na-Na" (ban...

The Turner Home: January 2015

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 11, 2015. Melanie - 14 Months. Melanie is still an eater. She has just recently started to show preference for one type of food or another. She will turn her head to refuse if it's not something she wants to eat. She would them whine until she got what she wanted. The whining was getting a little old, so we started sign language. She caught on really quickly, so now we don't have to hear the whining. Still sleeping through the night (12-13 hours) and two naps a day. Rocking in the chair.

The Turner Home: October 2014

http://theturnerhome.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Melanie - 11 Months. Mel nurses morning and evening now and is starting to get the hang of a sippy cup. YAY! Some of her favorite foods are:. Go Go Squeeze: She goes crazy for that green pouch. Still sleeping through the night (12-13 hours) and two naps a day. Her new sippy cups: she gets so tickled when she gets some water in her mouth. Having her nose wiped. When Mommy is busy and can't hold her right away. Pulling up and cruising. I'd be ornery, too. Links to this post.
