Infrequent dronings about really not much at all. Tuesday, 29 March 2011. Oh, what a find! Handing amongst the usual rubbish on the chazzer line - cheap tracksuit tops, worn-out "spray-proof" jackets, and awful cheap jumpers of unknown origin was the light grey tweed jacket I eyed. I lifted it off the rail in trepidation. There a few things that flash through your mind at moments like this. What size is it? How badly worn will it be? Are all the buttons there? Now, this isn't the name of a long-lost Shakespearean play, or a lesser known Greek tragedy (though I dare say you could pass it off as one) but simply a bet on the horses I had today. A minor tradegy is ways. I took the old man down his local social club for a couple of frames of snooker. We were a tad early for the opening at 1300 so we popped into the bookies that rsides in a small out building. Came home...

The local chazzer (charity shop) had hardly anything of interest - some old overly-prices camcorders and odds and sods of no use to man or beast. Amongst the shelves of cheap tat, vases and 'Made in China' pottery was a small faux-wicker basket and inside was a pile of garish fridge magnets, seaside mementoes and assorted key rings - all, I have to say, modern and very uninteresting. And in that instant I was time travelling. There are loads of these objects that everyone has inside their skull, that can in an instant transport one back 30, 40 years.
