Loose Shoelaces: January 2015
http://looseshoelaces.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 18, 2015. I have a lot of wannabe personalities and aspirations. Some days I want to be like the Pioneer Woman and live on a ranch with my family, homeschool my nonexistent children, and let George take care of the cows. Does George know how to take care of cows? No Does he have any desire to take care of anything bovine related? But I do enjoy it. I am in the process of completing of a mini redo of my living room and am having so much fun with it. Here is my style board. All rugs at Chai...

Tuesday, June 16, 2015. While I Was Housesitting. I have been housesitting over the past week(ish). I love housesitting for people! First of all, it feels like a staycation. Am I right? Think about it - you are in a new environment, you don't have a lot of the responsibility that you do at your own house, you can eat what you want, sleep in, read, and have some alone time! I read. a lot. And it was glorious. Everyone seems to love it. What gives? Good ole Trader Joe's. Thursday, June 4, 2015. Tonight, I ...
Loose Shoelaces: March 2014
http://looseshoelaces.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2014. I've been doing some thinking lately. I'll be 30 years old in a few months, and I still sometimes feel as lost as I was when I was much younger. I am definitely more confident than I used to be, however, I still wonder if I even know myself at all. I feel like my style and likes/dislikes are constantly changing, but are they mine or someone else's? Thursday, March 6, 2014. Wonderful Erin over at The Short and Sassy Teacher. Here are the rules. 1 Post 11 random facts about yourself.
Loose Shoelaces: But It's A Dry Heat...
http://looseshoelaces.blogspot.com/2015/08/but-its-dry-heat.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. But It's A Dry Heat. You guys. it's really hot here. I know everyone says that in the summer, but here in Phoenix it is REALLY hot. Today I was in and out of volcanic cars all day long and I thought I was going to burst into flames. I'm so glad that I have gotten a few choice items recently that make the summer slightly more bearable. I bought this beautifully flouncy cardigan. Also the fabulous people at Jord. Sent me a beautifully made wooden watch - in love! I started work thi...

Where Learning is FUN! Pictures of Our Room. Monday, August 27, 2012. Mission Possible for Students! 3rd grade teachers at my school teamed up to create a video to introduce a top secret mission for students. Warning: the video is super corny, but the kiddos LOVED it, which is what matters most anyway! We may never be internet sensations, but we may end up on Tosh.0's web redemption feature:) Who knows? Where Learning is FUN!: Daily 5 I-Pick Owl Cart!
http://wherelearningisfun.blogspot.com/2013/07/daily-5-i-pick-owl-cart.html
Where Learning is FUN! Pictures of Our Room. Thursday, July 11, 2013. Daily 5 I-Pick Owl Cart! I finally finished the cart for students to store their books. I cut super sturdy cardboard into pieces and then used fun-colored duct tape to finish the look. Finally I tested out my creation, and it works splendidly! This should be a nice addition to my classroom and will hopefully create more space in students' desks. I also added the I-PICK chart shown below to the side of my cart:). Posted by Jen W.

Where Learning is FUN! Pictures of Our Room. Sunday, December 9, 2012. Our 3rd graders have been very busy gearing up for STARVILLE, which is the mini-society that happens only once a year! The pictures explain a lot, but we had 20 stores at our STARVILLE, where students worked at two. Different places and were given the opportunity to shop as well-just in time for the Christmas. http://wherelearningisfun.blogspot.com/2013/08/morning-check-in.html
Where Learning is FUN! Pictures of Our Room. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. With the morning hustle bustle, sometimes it's easy to forget to ask your students important questions pertaining to their home life. Each morning I stand by my door and greet my kiddos with a "high five, handshake, or hug." This is also when I check their planners to see if mom or dad signed his/her child's planner for the previous day. Since my third graders LOVE to share (who doesn't? Here are some other questions I plan to use:.

Friday, December 30, 2011. Middle and High School Blog Party. Told me about the middle and high school blog party, I was all in. When I first started blogging, I was feeling a bit left out. There are SO many adorable blogs for K-3 teachers but what about the middle school teachers? It's bad enough that we have to deal with the hormonal changes but now we can't get any love in blogland? I couldn't deal. I was having a Veruca Salt. Ok, it wasn't that serious, but still! Posted by Miss P. Today I'm linking ...

Also I put up stories about my adventures and travel. I do poetry and make short stories and essays randomly. And yes, I dig missed connections, too!

Loose Shoelaces
Saturday, January 23, 2016. I recently (as in *ahem* months ago kind of recently) found two new websites that are very effective for assessing. The first one is Kahoot. I'll post about the other one later. It is a super fun, competitive, response game which you can do quizzes, discussions, or surveys on. Students compete against each other and then you can download data immediately afterwards. I used to use Clickers in the classroom, but what a pain! Sunday, October 18, 2015.
