I didn’t get them; I failed to slip through the crack of the light at the center of them. I was young. And I don’t remember . . . .And, maybe they were the wrong translation. Recently, what tipped me back towards and into Celan’s words are the lovely, troubling, translucent handlings by Jack Hirschman in the September/October 2008 issue of the. Bolt the door: There.
