SprinklerBandits: Jumping a Sane Horse (who's maybe even broke)

Tack and Equipment Reviews. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Jumping a Sane Horse (who's maybe even broke). I talked last week about how I was basically trying to bore Courage to death with lots of tiny jumps. Well, good news: it's working. Courage is always super fun to photograph because he believes ALL jumps are 3'6" and clears them accordingly. Thus, I could set teeny courses and still get spectacular shots because of how green he was. I think that's over with. For once. Ha! And i'm releasing. that helps.

Tack and Equipment Reviews. Friday, July 31, 2015. 6 West Coast Facts for East Coast Riders. For your convenience, I include a map. I was reading this article on Eventing Nation. Yesterday, and one quote in particular struck me as so funny that I sent it to local friends to share the laugh. Here's the quote about a rising young pro:. That's right, folks- 1 hour and 42 minutes counts as some sort of bold career move to a remote and far off place. Since when did that count as "far away"? Like, way. I l...

What if?: What do you really want?
http://deborahcarr.blogspot.com/2011/01/what-do-you-want.html
Friday, January 21, 2011. What do you really want? It was just before Christmas when Diane. Posted the question on her Facebook page. What do you want this year? I knew she didn't mean a new lens for my camera or my favourite indulgence soap. Or even some sweet, small trinket. Diane thinks deeper than that. The question gave me pause. What did I want? The truth was, I didn't know. And if I didn't know, who did? After Christmas, I settled in to read my new book, Sacred Rhythms. Can I share something?

SprinklerBandits: Hakuna Matata
http://iamthesprinklerbandit.blogspot.com/p/hakuna-matata.html
Tack and Equipment Reviews. A 1995 model OTTB ( pedigree here. Came to me in the early spring of 2012. He was the right horse at the right time- packing me over little fences until I could do it without freezing in the fetal position and wanting to die. We jumped. We trail rode. We galloped. We played. We showed. We won. I wanted to bring him back and dominate the local circuit again, but his happiness and health were more important to me than any ribbon at any show (even a neck ribbon). Disappointment&#...

come sit by my fire: the face we show the world
http://comesitbymyfire.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-face-we-show-world.html
Tuesday, September 18, 2012. The face we show the world. Today was butterfly release day in second grade. I had my camera at the ready, and what a lesson it provided. Tomorrow I am going to talk to my class about the face we show the world. The character lesson will go something like this:. You know how we always think of butterflies as graceful, fluttering, beautiful little creatures? The gloss and shimmer of their wings just take our breath away,. And we assume that they are gorgeous all over. Wednesda...

What if?: How is it with your Soul?
http://deborahcarr.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-is-it-with-your-soul.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. How is it with your Soul? Parker J. Palmer, A Hidden Wholeness. Once the echoes of Christmas faded, I made a commitment to my soul. I promised to set aside the first hours of my day.every morning for 40 days. During that time, I would wait patiently, listening for its voice. It's been 28 days now and I am just learning to quiet my mind, relax in the silence and listen. I'm getting comfortable with myself. And waiting. Sometimes, on our return trek home, we found where he had ...
